He’s a * machine, the numbers he posts is insane. Keep him fit man, get him a new contract, he’s only 23 man.

I don’t think * quite notice what he’s capable of at times man

Such a weird one. His shooting from outside the area is, by a mile, the best in the squad. And he does create goals as well.

But I can’t see him ever being more than a bit part player/squad player.

I really like Turnbull and hope he extends his contract but I won't be shocked if a promoting team in England or a team that just avoids relegation brings him in. He scores 5 or 6 from midfield for teams like that and he's worth a bomb.
He isn't the fastest but I don't think you always need speed as long as you have someone like Hatate beside you doing that for you.

I really don't get the he's not athletic enough for our midfield argument. Aye he's not the most athletic but he's not any less athletic than Mooy or Oriley who are the 2 guys keeping him out the team

Yeah thought it was interesting when Ange was talking about him, Mooy and Hart and spoke of asking them what their thoughts on their future where. Mooy and Hart will be a different conversation but l reckon he'll probably fancy a go down south and will be looking at more game time. Wouldnt be suprised to see him away in the summer based on his chats with Ange

Agree, I can't make sense of it in my head to fully describe it.

My head sees him as a less mobile version of Rogic.

I dunno how to explain it...because I don't think he can carry the ball on runs, yet his technical ability to pick out passes and scorer screamers are top notch.

Guy is a * enigma to me

I put Turnbull in the same bracket as Giakoumakis and Haksabanovic. All far too talented to not be in the first 11, but due to the impressive quality and, I have to say, overinflated squad, they aren't guaranteed starters.

The homegrown quota for the CL is going to be an issue next season, so keeping Turnbull happy should be high up on our priority list. There aren't many affordable Scots out there that we can replace him with.

He’s a quality player in final 3rd but he’s not near the level of Mooy and O’Reilly for defensive side and physicality. A great squad player to have but he’ll not be a starter.

Agreed, he's an excellent option to have and his shooting technique from range is the best in the team by a mile, but I'm struggling to see him supplanting Hatate with the energy/mobility he brings or Mooy with his creativity. Maybe if Mooy left (which I don't think he will) he could challenge O'Riley for that position.

    Prefer him to O'Riley.

Always been a fan. OK he's not the greatest defensively at times but even then I think he's improved on that side of his game. For what he brings attack wise, for 85% of our games it's ideal.

Gets a hard time for some reason.

For me he’s first off the bench for a midfield position now. He’s back ahead of O’Riley.

Not my favourite player, but I do like that he isn't afraid to have a pop at goal outside the area, same with Abada.

Feel like we're guilty of overpaying it at times this season, so it's refreshing to see guys hitting it when the opportunity arises.

He's been unlucky with injury. Him and Rogic basically carried the team at the beginning of Ange's tenure.

He's looking a bit more confident last couple of weeks, than he had for a good while. Am actually getting the impression that he's enjoying the challenge of trying to force himself into the team, which is a huge plus in his favour.

It's not just his goals either, he's finding good passes and moving the ball well, he's ideal for when we've got teams pegged back. It's great to see him not being disheartened by not starting games and just getting in about it.

Reckon he's fine against SPL dross but not for Europe.
Hope he stays, but likely one of him and Matt O'R will be away in the summer. And right now, if I had to make the call, I would rather keep Turnbull, because of his goal threat. Keep saying it, but just love the way he is always for a pop at goal.

I have been one of the posters on here wanting him gone, but i think he is a decent squad player and i would like to keep him. Not a starter for me as his defensive or general midfield play is not on the same level as others, but his qualities in the final third is very usefull to have.

I like him, he does offer us something but not a starter.

Prior to the league cup final I thought he was ace to be honest. Also during 20/21 I thought he was a bright star in a fairly shoddy team, despite unrest he was always decent and feel without him it could have been far far worse.

I'm afraid he's confirmed today as a 3'rd choice after Mooy and O'Riley
