    Stepped up our scouting?

We've done nothing but scout him and know the boy inside out..

Think it's nailed on we'll sign him this window..

If we want to sign Turnbull which from last year we clearly do, we should go and buy him. He’s now played 4 games and is beginning to contribute more each game.

We have scouted him previously so know his strengths and weaknesses he has showed he is fit and capable again.

So unless we are waiting to see if one of the first team squad are moving on before making a move, I see no reason to delay further. As others have said I would be offering a lower fee than before but a player on loan if Well are interested.

Just don't see where he fits in unless we are selling Ntcham or Rogic. Midfield is one area we definitely aren't in need of strengthening.

I would say attack minded mids is not one but defensively I think a “Wanyama type“ DM/ box to box powerful midfielder would add a lot to our team.

Reckon Ntcham must be heading down South with interest from Everton and Southampton. Either that or we are going to loan him back to Motherwell for the season.

I disagree. We have had no alternative to Christie since Armstrong left. We also lack a strong defensive midfielder.

Brown is noticeably declining now. If Lennon refuses to rotate him, even against weak opposition, it might be better for the club if he retires at the end of the season to make way for younger and more talented players.

We have a number of exciting midfielders, but they are all competing for one starting spot - if that - because Brown and McGregor are undroppable. You could argue that Lennon has extended that status to Christie now, too.

Saw Turnbull very much in the 10 role similar to Christie but appeared to be playing a bit deeper v Hibs last weekend, either way I'd take him, and the suggestion of sending Robertson and Henderson the other way on a loan sounds good. One player who's impressed me with his movement and distribution with the ball behind the striker has been Barry coffey miles off consideration for first team but hopefully can get a decent loan, has spent good few years in Scotland now so wouldn't be too fussy about loaning to another Scottish team so be good to get him out to maybe a league 1 team..

Turnbull isn't that kind of player though, and I thought Soro was meant to come in as that kind of player, albeit without the power or physique of Wanyama.
It looks likely Ntcham will be sold but I think we should be loaning Turnbull back until summer like you say.
Don't your first and last paragraphs essentially contradict each other, in that if we sign Turnbull is just further pushes the likes of Henderson and Robertson further down the pecking order? I agree about Broony and he himself will know this will be his last season as a first team regular.

Just don't see the logic in signing a young attack minded midfielder when we have Christie, McGregor, Robertson, Henderson, and potentially Ntcham still for the foreseeable. Even if he's good, it's not a priority to be spending £2m+ on him when we need a left back and centre half more urgently.

No. My argument is that players should start on merit. I am more than happy for any player to be pushed down the pecking order if it is on the basis of ability.

Buy, loan back until Jan and then reassess, he isn't getting near our team at the moment

Can't see why some people can't find a use for him, especially if we lose ntcham or the rumoured move for rogic materialises.

If it’s true that Rogic is going to Qatar, then bringing Turnbull in is an absolute no brainer.
