Think it was an obligation to buy when we signed Maeda, but surely these can be cancelled? Would suspect his old team would happily take him back.

In saying that it's still far, far too soon to even be discussing that, he's not currently good enough to start, but I think he offers enough to bring something different off the bench.

Has to Bury that chance. No need to go for power.

They can’t. It’s an obligation. He’s ours now.

And I think people will start appreciating him far more when we Kyogo’s back as clear first choice and he’s filling in positions and coming on against tired legs.

He’s a good option to have in the squad.

Some parts of Maeda's game are very be good but lets be honest some parts are a bit *. In Europe you simply cant afford to miss chances like the one he had. He came here with a good reputation, some were saying he is better than Kyogo which obviously hasnt proved to be the case so far. Hopefully we are yet to see the best of him, looks like he could do with a confidence boost.

I think he will turn out to be a decent squad option for us. Not the starter I was hoping for though. Think his YouTube clips and reviews from hipster journalists deceived us a bit to be honest.

Not ready to write him off yet. I'm pretty happy with his overall contribution all things considered.

He is deffo a super sub/impact type player for me when we are 65 minutes into the game.

Would be nice to nice if it’s a option to buy or an obligation to buy, heard it’s one of them but unsure which one

Makes intelligent runs but finishing woeful so far, but then kyogo was missing sitters galore at the start of the season so hopefully like him he starts converting these chances.

what shouldnt be forgotten is that he has made a move to a different continent, culture, style etc.

Maedas record in Japan speaks for itself. I would agree that he isnt the best technically but I think he still has plenty still to show. Might just be taking a bit longer to adapt.

Not making a final judgement on him yet, giving the boy next season to see if he settles in a bit better. But so far not overly impressed.

    Sorry, but he’s really *.

We can talk about culture changes and adaptation periods, but ultimately I’ve seen nothing to suggest he will be a player for us.

Realistically, how many strikers come in, look *, then suddenly become great after 6 months?

The only ones I can think of that got off to a slow start that ended up really good are Hartson and Zurawski.

Even at that, that was only in goal scoring terms they were off to a bad start, they showed plenty in their all round game prior to ending their goal drought.

Not sure quite who you were expecting people to focus on in the Maeda thread.

I’ll be withholding judgement until he’s not came off a 40 game season and playing for Japan and right into the melting pot.

I think he definitely has more to him than he’s shown.

He'll have his uses but sadly he doesn't look great so far.

Its bad enough even with blokes you know who have their own language when playing the game :giggle2:
Maeda is ideal for playing on the break so probably suited to this game but just didn't work out this time. Still have faith yet.
