A lot of people talking about money here as if we're skint.

Was it not May there that we found out that we are in the best financial state we have ever been?

As much as it is a kick in the teeth not getting into the group stages there is no need for a fire sale to accumulate lost money.

If there is any ambition left we should go out and strengthen and take the hit financially this year to ensure that the team gels throughout this year and we gain access next year.

November for the AGM I believe.

EGM can only be called with the backing of 75%> of shareholders.

No. Us being put out was a direct consequence of the boards actions. From patchworking the defence with Hendry and sick note instead of investing in quality. If we made it to the CL with no spend on getting quality in I would feel the same. Last night was the straw the broke the camels back. The board want to run it like a business rather than a football club, what other business lessens it's product quality and raises the price?

I normally don't look at AGM reports or over what was said on them, but I'll be looking out for this one. To see how the shareholders view the club's situation. Being deprived of CL can't be good for the club stock value. And I wonder if the board will be called out for that.

He may be only 1 man but as part of the 4 man ECA contingent of UEFA i would say he has quite a bit of influence.

Lawwell won’t chair the next AGM. Last time the fans were beeling at him and the AGM came round he wheeled Bankier out.

Who proceeded to call Celtic fans anti-semetic and the heat was off Lawwell for that year.

Guys a superb politician. I’ll give him that.

No we haven’t strengthened and everyone on here has said that...nothing enlightening about repeating that, for the record Fenerbahce and Spartak Moscow both champions of leagues rated higher than ours went out last night as well, pointing the finger at one person is not why we are now in the Europa League, many factors are at play and in particular the harder format the CL now hands out to clubs not in the elite associations, AEK were a decent but not brilliant team but one we in the past didn’t come up against so early in the competition, that’s no excuse as over the 180 minutes we should have put them away, beating them was no guarantee we were in the groups in any case, it’s a harsh reality but even with a strengthened squad this tournament is harder and more competitive than its ever been to get a place in the promised land of the groups...with the best will in the world we are no longer going to regularly qualify as a matter of course like you and others might demand until the current reforms are scrapped for a fairer system

I'd say Lawwell holds 70% of the blame for us being pumped out. How can a double-treble winner struggle so much, just like a winner against Barcelona began to struggle, several years before? Answer: the higher-ups failed to provide support required for continued success.

Deservedly cop's a lot of flak but was Dermot no over last week coincidentally when the board were supposedly at loggerheads with Brendan and vice versa?

He must've been happy with what he was overseeing, so what will he be thinking today?

The penny pinching and gambling with our future at the big stage has finally caught up. They're all a disgrace upstairs for 'allowing' us to go in to a harder qualifying route with a weakened side. They have failed us all, and while Brendan is culpable....they have failed him also..

Id say he's more of a shitebag hiding behind the moat and high walls of his castle counting his money while we suffer the consequences of the state we are in.

He will be on the blower to his son asking for any more projects/rejects we can loan to appease the peasants.
While he waits for his big fat bonus cheque when the shareholders get a record dividend thanks to the profit from the penny pinching.

100%..........................It's been a collective *-up tbh, all the harder to take considering the last 2 seasons and our position of strength.

I stand corrected on that but we are still talking big clubs nevertheless...2 more rounds after Rosenborg is proof enough it’s harder now
