    Probably nonsense but....

    https://readceltic.com/2019/05/29/celtic-linked-with-girona-striker-cristhian-stuani/

Celtic have been linked with a move for prolific Girona striker Cristhian Stuani, according to Spanish outlet AS, cited by the Scotsman.

The 32-year-old has enjoyed an impressive individual season in La Liga, scoring 19 times in Spain’s top division, with only Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, Karim Benzema and Iago Aspas netting more.

Unfortunately for Stuani, his goals couldn’t prevent Girona from relegation and the striker has now been heavily linked with a move away from the club.

The Hoops are reportedly showing an interest in the former Middlesbrough player, along with Championship outfit Nottingham Forest.

The striker, who has also scored eight goals in 48 caps for Uruguay, is reportedly available to leave Girona for just €7m.

Hoops’ boss Neil Lennon is keen to add to his attacking options this summer after agreeing to take over at Celtic Park.

A move for Stuani may split Celtic fans down the middle, as despite his impressive goalscoring record, forking out a large fee for a 32-year-old could prove to be a risky piece of business.

    The S*n

CELTIC are interested in a swoop for Girona striker Cristhian Stuani, according to reports.

Spanish football site ASconfirmed an 'important Scottish club' are chasing the 32-year-old while Mexican site Radio Formula claim Celtic are interested.

The Uruguay international, who is rated at €7million, has also been linked with clubs in England and even Barcelona.

Stuani, contracted at the recently relegated La Liga side until 2022, fired 19 league goals last season as they finished 18th in Spain's top flight.

Hoops fans' favourite Patrick Roberts, who bid farewell Girona on social media last week, was a team-mate of the striker after joining last summer on loan from Manchester City.

The 48 times capped international is no stranger to the British game after a two-year spell at Middlesbrough.

While reports in Spain and Mexico are suggesting the Hoops are keen, given his age and hefty price tag it's unlikely they would pay that figure.

As you say there'll be no truth in this. We're not paying that for a 32 year old.

be good if we abandoned this signing policy though. Good experience up top can be worth it's weight in gold. A player like this could be the difference between qualifying for the CL or not. Don't always need to look for resale value.

    But aye, we're not changing.

Come back to me with Duván Zapata who scored a barrel load for Atalanta this season and only 28. Think Inter is linked with him.

Would definitely take him. Only Messi and Suarez have outscored him past 2 years in Spain and that's with him playing in a relegated team. No chance we would pay the money quoted though

Stuani would be a brilliant signing, can't see him going for 7 million either, hope we are interested.

If we was loaded with £40m in the bank and only needed 2 more titles for an epic untouchable total, then I'd consider it.

    Skint tho. Ask lawell.

Nah for me, would rather have some fresh talent not a guy with 1 or 2 seasons left and as mentioned he was * prior to the past 2 years. If it were 2m but not £5m

Finally an older head up top to be linked with. Sick of youth signings TBH.

Not for that amount of money, I’d like a good experienced guy there to help the likes of Eddy but not at they sorta prices.
