i agree with a lot of that however these reflex saves give us more imo......off the top of my head the huns would have beat us 3 weeks ago and there's many more examples!! I agree with you on his passing but he's tried to adapt and on the whole being pretty unsuccessful on the big stage!!

    HOWEVER,

    1) Manuel Neuer would struggle behind the keystone cops we have in front of him!!

    and

    2) there's a lot of outfield players who go hiding on the big stage, especially when he's looking for an outlet!

For me, he's no perfect but he's an easy scapegoat when there's other far more culpable than him. Just my opinion and he's saved us a lot more than he's cost us!!

Gutted for Gordon had some iffy moments but some outstanding games especially for a freebie!

Best of luck Craig, hope to see you again but I really doubt it

There’s defo a bit of truth in this, the best teams press and easily limit his options at the highest level. However he is substandard with the ball at his feet, no doubt and that invites needless pressure. Possession is everything in Europe and he gives it away too often.

I’m genuinely gutted for him, but it could be a blessing in disguise in the longterm.

Disappointed for him, potentially career ending. Worrying time to lose your first choice goalie.

100% spot and what puzzles me is, because he's an intelligent guy, is why the * he doesn't hoof it up against high level opposition if he doesn't have a safe option. It's what i'd * do and then if that doesn't suit what the manager wants i'd be asking him to tell me what other options did i have!! We haven't got the players to do this against good euro sides....they're far too good off the ball at pressuring us!!

As for the longer term...time will tell....personally i'm quite worried about this!! Really hope i'm proved wrong though mate!!

    Unbelievable.

Our luck with injuries this season is atrocious.

BR won’t change his philosophy, he will always try and play his way even in Europe. When it works it will be special but more often than not especially in the CL we are setting ourselves up for a doing.. as the teams we play also want to pay the way BR does, but do so with much better players..

That’s why Gordon will never be good enough to play the way BR wants to, especially in Europe where we need to use our GK a lot more than we do domestically.

It’s not Gordon’s fault it’s just not his game. His aptitude in reflex shot stopping is one of the best we’ve seen. Unless we’re talking about Pens.. lol.

Beautiful Sunday - the IRA version
Given that he's had problems with his knees before - quite serious problems at that, you'd imagine if this injury is as serious as is being reported then his career is almost certainly over. A sad way for it to end but I just can't see him coming back from this.
