How about a thread on the acts of human kindness and community spirit like people singing from their balconies?
We all need something to make us smile during this difficult times .

What's the police going to do like? They dont have the actual power to close them. Until next week. I know of 5 pubs in my town who looked closed from the front door but with a good few regulars in. Pop along knock on the back door and you get in. Itll be the same all over the UK.

What the police are going to do is the same thing anyone would do, which is remember.

Disregarding the moral issue (I.e. the fact you are a * for staying opened) you can guarantee the police will make their lives a living * firstly when the legislation comes in and secondly when this blows over.

    Wren Kitchens.

Owned by a billionaire who thinks it’s an appropriate course of action to tell staff that if they need to self-isolate they should take it as part of their holiday allowance or unpaid leave.

Can’t say for sure mate, just saw this elsewhere and turned out the employer in question was Wren Kitchens.

My GF works in a big name kitchen store, they told all staff in an email that it was "business as usual and let's get this Spring Sale going, if anyone needed to isolate, then they could take from the tiny amount of holidays they receive or unpaid leave", apparently when the staff in their head office was given this news, people broke down in tears at their desk because they can't afford to take unpaid leave.... my GF called in yesterday and told the manager, who was sitting at home on holiday, that she was going to stay off and he started demanding to know what was wrong with her, why aren't you coming in and then told her "to keep her medical advice to herself" because she told a co-worker who had just flown back from Dubai that she should isolate for at least 7 days and not go to work.

Basically left the conversation with a veiled threat that she'll be fired if she doesn't go in, which she would be in an instant, so she ended up going in just so she could put her holidays in place... I don't think she'll be going back.

The guy who owns this chain is a billionaire and one of the richest people in the country.

This is what we're up against.

6.99 for a movie a paid 4.99 for last week.

Wanks are taking advantage of people stuck in the house wanting something to watch.

Wren are like a cult, I liken them to the Scientology brigade. Staff cannot say a word against them. They operate a tight ship and if anyone deviates from their mantra they are out the door.

They have a ridiculous turnover of staff, especially the poor souls they refer to as designers, which is a misnomer as all they are interested in are sales. They couldn’t give a * about their frontline staff.
