Starfelt not Julien

Shane Duffy and Tyler Blackett were both worse, off the top of my head. And I don’t rate Starfelt.

 

It was about who should be dropped when Julien comes in, therefore the mention of both defenders was perfectly justified

 

At least Duffy scored some goals. Blackett only played 3 games. Starfelts played enough now for an honest opinion to be formed. Did Blackett make any serious mistakes in those 3 games?

Any word on his return?have to say when he first got injured it looked like it was nothing,never thought for a minute he would be out this long.

Nah Starfelt is pish mate. Not our worst ever imo but I certainly wouldn’t debate someone on it

 

I honestly think he is lol. I think if he left us tomorrow he'd be ranked among the worst in years to come

 

I think Starfelt is slowly improving, but when Jullien is fully fit he's first choice for me.

 

I can’t remember but I would say so because I remember him as one of the top 3 worst players I’ve ever seen in a Celtic shirt personally.

 

Duffy, Welsh, CCV and that’s only this year.

 

Anyone claiming Starfelt is our west ever defender is a * idiot. Seriously.

Probably had a dozen worse, at least, in the last 10 years.

 

Interesting. With two defenders missing due to injury, Starfelt still did not make the bench in the WC qualifiers.

 

He's a top player now, but Jack Hendry played 15 league games and some European games and he was absolutely atrocious.

I'd also stick Nir Bitton in there. Centre Mid by trade, but at fault for so many goals at Centre back.

There's also Rogne, Efe, Majstrovic, Hoovield, Adam Virgo - and that's just the last 15 years.

I don't know where all the decent centre backs are gone, they don't make them like the used to. I'd take Caldwell and McManus back.

 

“If”. That’s a big if IMO. Hasn’t instilled any confidence in our back line at all. He may need time to settle etc…but atm he’s a bomb scare.

Rogne, Efe and Big Dan were all better than what Starfelt has shown imo. Efe made a mistake in nearly every game he played near the end of his Celtic stay but overall he was a good signing.

 

Agree with @Slaw.

I actually lived big Maj. He was a * zoomer, but a no nonsense CB.

Even Efe had some spectacular performances in him, especially in Europe.

At this point it really is a fingers crossed game with Starfelt that his errors won't cost us.

We'd line up in Europe against some of the most lethal attacks in on the planet and pray Efe could keep his head and not do anything daft.
With Starfelt that's almost a foregone conclusion against the muck of Scotland.

We EXPECT his errors, not hope that he doesn't make them.
