Paddy's stats weren't outstanding at Fulham either. From the few clips I've seen of Charly Bhoy up against the likes of Barca, i think he'll be a class above again.

What would he cost on a permanent? 20 million plus?

Tbh I have no idea of what Paddy's stats were like at Fulham, but when he signed I wasn't that excited as I thought he was just another one of those medicore products of the English system like Blacket or Janko.

Musonda, on the other hand, is someone I've heard of and it's clear a lot of people rate him - especially Brendan. If he turns out be like Roberts I'll be delighted.

Seen that. Apparently he has a big instagram story up about the move too, loads of screenshots of Celtic fans tweets about Musonda. His profile pic is a picture of his wee brother. Clinging onto his coat tail for dear life :giggle1:

To get this calibre of player there's nothing wrong with a loan. Look at Bayern with James rodriguez. Sometimes it's the only way teams can get in a certain player or get cover 18 months too I'm pretty delighted with that mate

You know how people saying we can't get players of his quality....

Looks at players like Sinclair, Moussa, Ntcham, Wanyama, VVD, Foster, Hooper ect.

We can get the quality, the club has shown this over the years.

Fans need to stop selling us short.

    Hail Hail.

Obviously Im not saying no to all loan deals. If your getting a quality player like that on loan then thats good business. What Im saying is we shouldnt be using it as a business strategy in the long term - which apparantly is what we're doing.....Roberts, Eduoard, Musonda.....

If you have a problem in your team.....if you lack something from your squad.....then loan deals only put off the problem rather than fix it.

Unless Sky/BT/Amazon demand that Celtic take part in the EPL or another European league then we are never ever going to compete again with buying players and paying big salaries.

Loan moves for 'big' players coming to Celtic is going to become the new norm. The only players we will ever be able to buy are Championship players or out of form Premiership players.

Sad state of affairs but it's not just us, look at all the teams that aren't on that list, where's Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord, where's Porto, Sporting Lisbon, Copenhagen, Anderlecht, Rosenborg and Monaco?

Bournemouth have a stadium capacity of 11,360 and generate more revenue than a lot of European elite and by the looks of things, the gap is only going to get wider unfortunately.

    Something's got to give? Surely?

Out of all of those Ntcham is probably the only comparative example and I imagine he was on a good bit less at City than Musonda is now.

The rest were either playing with smaller clubs or deemed surplus to requirements like Forster and Sinclair.

Once a big club gets them and puts them onto ridiculous salaries then it's much harder for us to convince them to come here.

That list is frightening, most of those teams just shouldn’t be anywheee near that.
Wonder how Benfica managed to get that much in though, don’t imagine tv money there is massive

Benfica got to the last 16 in the Champions League last year and were knocked out by Borussia Dortmund so would have earned more Champions League revenue than we did. Portugal probably pays a bit more for League and Cup wins too, TV revenue in Portugal has to be better than it is in Scotland although I wouldn't expect them to match Celtic for matchday revenue. Celtic's match day revenue must be up there with the elite I would have thought. 53k season ticket holders plus merchandise and other ticket sales must come to a fair whack.
