There is no question he is right now more effective but to be fair to Forrest he clearly is not and has not been fully fit for over a year now.

Was lucky enough to be at the game last night sitting in the second tier behind the bench .
We were unlucky last night if 1 of our chances had gone in we would have won that game as the crowd were turning on their team due to frustration . Beautiful stadium , fantastic atmosphere and I think we can beat them at paradise .

Happy with the quality of our performance. On the road against a good side we had a lot of the ball and overall defended well when we had to. But despite that we end up with nothing. Firstly you have to give credit to how well they defended set pieces especially corners where despite having plenty of them we never looked like scoring.
Outside that our final delivery from wide areas and finishing when we did get a look at goal simply was not good enough on the night and we got punished for it late on with that deflected goal. I remember thinking to myself a few times in the second half when I was starting to get excited that not only might we get a point but that a win was there for the taking that we can't keep passing up these chances or else they will go down the other end and score which you see so many times when one team is playing well but not making it count on the score board.

On another aside did anybody else pick up on the unionist 6 counties flag the Milan fans had behind the goal we attacked in the first half. Pretty cheap and low that was I thought.

They also had a no surrender banner up behind the goal in the second half where their ultras sit , Tossers

A mixture between poor concentration, heads going down after there goal and tiredness I think. Before the goal I think our defenders would have been all over that.

On reflection that was a very poor Milan side they offered nothing during the game and had two lucky breaks leading to the goals.

Typical hard luck story away from home in the Champ League, thats us had 25 deafeats and 1 win away in the Groups, pish........

Celtic did OK but we will never have a better chance of beating a team away from home given they had most of their 1st team out injured.

We have no cutting edge, we do not have the 1 or 2 platers that can make a difference and we do not have a guy that can take advantage and score the goals at the top level.

    All big clbs need that.

Going by last night performance we might beat Milan and Ajax at CP but then again we need a goal scorer.

I hate the way people are talking about this poor Milan side. * me they are still AC Milan, still spent about 24 million euros on one guy. Dissappointed we never got a draw but jesus. We did well.

Finally finished watching the game. I don't think either side could have complained about a 0-0 draw but if any team deserved to win it was Milan- they looked far more dangerous.

People on here saying the Milan fans were rubbish: what game were you watching? Great atmosphere from their fans for what they probably consider mediocre opposition, something we could learn from for our domestic games. Is it only CP that looks awful when half full BTW? :smiley-laughing002: The San Siro still looked beautiful.

    The good:

I really like our defence now. Ambrose and Van Dijk both looked great at that level and really seem to like each other and play for each other. Great to see Van Dijk give the others a roasting for switching off at their second. Lustig is always solid and Izzy is the enigma that he is- played well. Brown and Matthews both played well defensively and gave us real solidity. Brown's intelligence and Matthews' pace snuffed out a lot of dangerous situations for Milan. Stokes looked our most dangerous creator. If Commons' current slump continues (he looks tired recently), I wonder if it's worth trying Stokes in that role.

    The bad:

They contained our two main threats (Commons and Sammy) with worrying ease and we looked toothless. The only person their defence didn't handle with ease was Stokes (when we actually succeeded in getting the ball to him). I agree that we seem to have lost our threat on set-pieces, or perhaps teams have figured out how to nullify our threat there. Either way it's worrying. They looked mediocre because they were missing some of their best players apparently. If that's true, they'll win at CP too unless we improve a lot. Mulgrew played well defensively, which I suppose was his main role last night, but did little going forward...I thought he was better than that.

    The ugly:

Still haven't seen a replay of the Brown/Balotelli incident.

All in all, a Milan side decimated by injury struggled a bit going forward but never looked troubled at the back. They had the best chances too. I saw nothing to change my mind that they will stroll to second place and we will fight for third with Ajax.

Of course we always struggle in our first game. Hopefully that's all that happened in this game.

Well thats the facts, Milan were poor by their standards, still better than us. Thats the difference between trully big clubs and the rest, they beat us with 9 men out.

The * me they are still AC Milan comment is stupid, i've seen many a side over the years that had great sides in the past, Milan being one of them, this Milan side is poor when you look at what they've had in the past, same with our side, our side is very poor considering what we once had years ago.

Yeah, but they only have to go back a few years to find a world-class team; we have to go back to the 70's.:54:

No it's not, they had spent £34m on just two strikers that were out there.

I don't think Lenny has spent that much on all his signings.
