    MOTHERWELL… 0

    CELTIC… 8
    (Hayes 27, 45, Larisey 29, 36, Craig 61, Jacynta 72, 88, Ashworth-Clifford 89)

Celtic FC Women rounded off a wonderful Sunday for the club as they ran riot in Lanarkshire, beating Motherwell 8-0 just hours after the men charged to a 9-0 win over Dundee United.

Celtic headed back to K-Park to face a Motherwell side who had previously beaten Hibernian 3-2 and been unlucky to lose against Glasgow City, but an assured Celtic side recorded their fourth clean-sheet and win of the season so far in sizzling fashion, thanks to doubles from Caitlin Hayes, Clarissa Larisey, Jacynta, along with goals from Chloe Craig and Lucy Ashworth-Clifford.

The Hoops put the hosts on the back foot early on and forced Motherwell to soak up the pressure and keep former Celtic stopper, Emily Mutch busy. But the well-deserved breakthrough came shortly before the half-hour mark as Hayes headed home from a corner.

And just two minutes later, Celtic had their second, with Larisey grabbing her first of the day, pouncing on a rebound after Liv Chance's shot had been saved.

With less than 10 minutes of the first-half remaining, Larisey once again showed the cool finishing which has seen her gain a call-up to the Canadian national squad, producing a classy side-foot finish made it 3-0.

And right on the stroke of half-time, Hayes completed her brace , again connecting with a corner.

Celtic started the second half with the same purpose as the first, but had to wait until the 61st minute for their fifth goal as substitute Chloe Craig buried her effort from the corner.

Her fellow substitute, Jacynta also got in on the act, rifling a low shot from distance beyond the keeper, before being in the right place at the right time to pounce inside the area and knock the ball over the line.

But the pick of the eight goals came from Lucy Ashworth-Clifford, who got her own reward after numerous assist as she blasted an unstoppable shot high into the net and seal a perfect afternoon for the club.

CELTIC: Tajonar, O’Riordan (Craig), Clark, Hayes, Bowie (Menglu), Robertson (Shen), Otto, Ashworth-Clifford, Chance, Larisey (Fergusson), Ross (Jacynta)
    Subs: Marwaha, Gallacher, Burchill, McAneny

    CELTIC… 6
    (Jacynta 2 & 47, Larisey 17, Menglu 26, Craig 28, Fergusson 68)

    HAMILTON ACCIES… 0

Celtic maintained their perfect start to the season with a resounding 6-0 win over Hamilton Accies at the Excelsior Stadium on Sunday.

Jacynta opened the scoring in the opening stages before securing her double just after the break, while there were also goals from Chloe Craig, Clarissa Larisey and first Celtic goals from Shen Menglu and Liv Fergusson.

Frank Alonso’s side started the game impressively, and opened the scoring after just two minutes.

Lucy Ashworth-Clifford played a short corner to Jacynta and the Australian attacker rifled her effort high into the net.

The Hoops continued to create numerous chances, and were only denied by the heroics of the Hamilton goalkeeper, but it wasn’t long before goal number two arrived.

Taylor Otto brought the ball down inside the box and laid it off for Clarissa Lariseyto fire home from from close-range.

Shen Menglu scored her first Celtic goal on 26 minutes, finishing after Otto’s initial effort was saved. And just two minutes later, Chloe Craig continued her fine goalscoring form this season when she fired the ball home after Caitlin Hayes had headed the ball into the area.

Celtic only had to wait two minutes after the break to make it 5-0, and it was Jacynta with her second of the game, the 21-year-old producing a superb finish after dispossessing a Hamilton defender.

And the sixth goal of the game came with just over 20 minutes of the match remaining. Shen Mengyu played a lovely reverse pass into the area for Liv Fergusson to slot home for her first Celtic goal.

Next up for Celtic is a tough trip to face Aberdeen next Sunday.
