CELTIC WIN TAKES TALLY TO 11

Celtic today increased their lead at the top of the league with a very impressive performance against St. Mirren which could be the Bhoys last ever outing at Love Street.

The SPL champions seen the return of Artur Boruc in goal and Strachan sent his side out looking to take control of the game from the first whistle and not concede any silly goals.

St. Mirren started the game very brightly and had a decent couple of chances giving Gordon Strachan's men a drastically required wake up call. Celtic managed to withstand the pressure however and top goal scorer Georgios
Samaras subsequently opened the scoring with a very good passage of play.

Shunsuke Nakamura grabbed the second goal with a brilliant ball from Samaras which Nakamura pulled out the air with a deft flick before curling a delightful left footed shot into the bottom corner taking his goals per game to 4 in 4 and granting Celtic the 2 goal cushion.

Celtic really got going from then on in, creating dangerous moves and looked to be in control of a hard fought game. Man of the match
Georgios Samaras was taken off for young Irishman Cillian Sheridan, who has showed deadly form since taking the step up from the reserves. The youngster got the third goal and showed why he is fighting for a starting place in the side.

As St. Mirren started to press, their hard work paid off with a consolation goal from Jim Hamilton but the Paisley side couldn't obtain any more from a Celtic team showing class at this present moment.

11 wins in a row is Celtic's best ever run under manager Gordon Strachan and he should be delighted with his players for the way they have treated every game and he would like them to give that kind of performance against Aalborg on tuesday which is a crucial game for both sides if they want to continue in Europe.
