Quite like the look of that, but one change. I'd have Forster in goals still.
Maybe even another little change...McGeouch on for Matthews.

 

I'd take McGeouch for Matthews, just to see how he plays.

Will be interesting to see if Lennon plays Forster or Zaluska. I suspect it'll be Zaluska.

Also interesting that even if we play mostly second-choice players we still have a fairly strong side.

 

I'd like to see Matthews get more game time in his new position (if you can call it that). If Forrest's out for a while we don't really have a natural winger to step in for him on the right (Boerrigter's better on the left; Broony in the centre).

I don't really know if McGeouch has what it takes to push for a first team place. He should really have been sent out on loan to see how he develops. What position does he actually play? I've seen him play on the right, in the centre, behind the striker... even at right-back, bizarrely.

Załuska needs & deserves a start, I think. He was excellent against Liverpool (I don't know why he only played the first half) & he's shown real loyalty to Celtic and patience, sitting on the bench when he could easily be playing first team football elsewhere. Plus, if Forster gets injured tomorrow - * forbid, we'll be going into European games with an 18 year-old and a reserve goalkeeper who hasn't played any competitive football this season.

I'd be happy enough for McGeouch to start ahead of Matthews but Załuska's a must-start for me.

 

It's a good side but when your playing the diamond you effectively want 4 players who can play inside and with Matthews and derk we'd have 2 players hugging the wings leaving big gaps in the middle..

If you were to have 2 sitting players it would be better..

But Van Dijk & Ambrose will, essentially, be sitting midfielders. I'm fairly sure Van Dijk thinks he's a centre forward. :smiley-laughing002:

 

I like that Blanka is self-confident. Loved it when he joined in the Forster/Caddis melee yesterday. :icon_mrgreen:

You could make a case for big balde to make his first start in his natural position at centre back and put big Virgil up top..
