I was at the game. The thing that was most concerning was how easily they got behind us. Particularly Lolley, who really troubled us with his pace. It was the sort of game where the score could have been 8-6. We really sparked for a period early in the second half when Taylor, Jota and O'Riley came on, but we suffered from a lack of clinical finishing. Sydney were really up for it. The game definitely meant something to them. Anyway, we'll definitely be better against Everton. It was great to see all the Celtic supporters around the city. Scruffy Murphy's pub in the city centre was heaving. HH

    Is Scruffy Murphy’s still going?
Thought I read somewhere that it was being torn down back in 2018?!

Used to be my local when I lived in Sydney.
Many nights of drunken debauchery were had there!

It's still there in Goulburn Street, near Haymarket, mate. I think it's home of the Sydney City CSC these days.

Expecting a better performance against Everton. Will be at that match with several Celtic mates - hugely looking forward to it. First time I've seen the bhoys in the flesh.

They caught us on the break down our left hand side so often it was ridiculous, friendly or no friendly. Wasn’t a shining endorsement of Bernebei but I wouldn’t pin all the blame on him, with him playing as an inverted full back. We were really poor on transition when losing possession.

Many with short memories. Kyogo scored some cracking and difficult goals last year.

Since getting that injury it has taken him some time to get to that scoring capability again this season. Also some of the newer players do not see his runs.

Was very, very impressed how Sydney FC brought the ball out of their left back defensive pocket with a calm 10 pass sequence along the touchline and passed the ball out to the opposite side. This was on the right of the screen on tv.

A pleasure to watch. Keep in mind the top Oz teams get to play top Asian clubs in Asian CL games as well. The teams from Japan and South Korea especially are very good ball playing teams.
