My stance is still the same as it has been for the last 5 years, this board are in contempt and are not fit for purpose! The fact we have no starting defenders for our first champions league qualifier is a * shambles!!

That was abysmal but none of it should be a surprise. The guy's gonna need a lot of time and patience. The ingredients just aren't there to play the type of high press, quick possession football he wants to play. Huge turnover needed, and I seriously hope we've got plans to add to the midfield, cause it's not near dynamic or creative enough, and it's been that way for a number of years.

Likes of Montgomery, Henderson, Moffat won't start the season really. Replace those sort of guys with Abada, Kyogo, Soro and the team becomes more direct and with a bit more experience and purpose. Will see a much different game.

My worry is that we shouldn't be at this stage still playing guys like Montromery and Moffat and making near full outfield changes in the second half.

I'm quite happy with it. At least it means he's seeing what we're seeing. Last year Lennon would have said we were brilliant.

Soro missing (ability to get us up the pitch) and actual wingers were really on show today. Montgomery for me is an attacking left back.

Not necessarily disagreeing with you. But we will most likely play 433 and our best players are 2 of the middle 3 in McGregor and Turnbull. The other mid will be a sitting defensive player in probably soro/Shaw.

Send Montgomery, Robertson, Henderson, Welsh(although he has impressed and could stay as back up) and Moffat out on loan to spfl sides starting every game) the constant games with less pressure will turn these boys into players, they aren’t quite there yet but showing good signs.

I know it was a friendly and I know the result doesn't really matter in the bigger scheme of things however, Clancy's performance today was diabolical and it looks as though the free reign they were given last season when it came to penalising us at every turn will extend to this season

Yeh, totally agreed (when Scotty Sinclair was challenged first half) and I said so in an earlier post however Clancy was giving fouls against us the whole game and it just reminded me of the referee performances from last season

he is rite into Australian rules football, he is looking at a few players from there to strengthen the defense. they will be ok as long as they remember not to drag players down to the ground by the neck and stand on them , except for huns

Zoned out of the match. Friendlies are so hard to stay interested in. A lot of work required on the squad is my main takeaway from today, but we knew that anyway.

Tough watch. Ideas are apparent. The execution of these ideas was seen a handful of times at best. The reasons, confidence in them and the quality or ability in the players to do so.

McGregor and Turnbull looked at that level of quality.
