Can someone clear something up here where waghorn was in the Celtic penalty box laying down while Celtic where attacking rangers in their half and the ball is kicked into the Celtic half and miller crosses the ball to waghorn and he nearly scores . Isn't he offside if the ball comes to him .

it is a reality check mate with success over confidence and cockiness
whenwe won the treble with O'Neill in his first season we actually lost 5-1 to the Huns but was anyone giving a * when we beat Hibs in final to win treble, come May do you think any Celtic fan will be saying " good winning treble put the Huns oot both cups but it's been a bit marred by the Huns taking 1 point from 12 from us", nae chance, game over, who's next?

Yep, it's clear as day he gained an advantage from starting from not only an offside position, but the most blatant offside position it was embarrassing.

And yeah, wasn't mentioned at all which i found bizarre.

Second phase of play mate, it's not offside.

Nah I can't see how thats the case. He's literally standing in our box when the ball is played forward to Miller. Our defenders have to sprint back from the half way line and he just stands and waits on the cross.

So Moussa could just stand on the penalty spot all game and wait for a cross coming in as it's a second phase of play?

The ball wasn't passed to waghorn, he's not offside.

I think you're allowed to aye, just as long as the initial pass isn't made to the person offside.

He has gained an advantage from being where he is.

I'm not 100% on the rules so I'll accept you and @\o/ 's points :50: just as a defender I'd be raging if that was me

Pretty much, the first phase is Miller chasing and getting the ball because Waghorn doesn't go for it, it's not offside. When Miller crosses it in, it's the second phase of play.

Still no happy about yesterday... I guess I'm far from being the only one!

Sinclair should have been subbed - no excuse for not doing it before 60 mins... he was beyond rank!

And I'm still raging about the Free Kicks. They're supposed to be an 'advantage', but we managed to turn many of them into instant lost possession by wilfully passing the ball all the way back and putting the CB's and GK under unnecessary pressure.

Yup, I know BR wants us to play in a manner that leads to all team-members feeling comfy on the ball at all times, but FFS, let's not do our 'on-the-job' training against THEM!!! This was Celtic v The Rangers... the fans invest a lot (and not just cash) in this fixture. Anything less than a victory was unacceptable!

I can only surmise that it's the 'vanity' that Pool fans talk about in reference to BR psyche that stopped him from allowing the players to mix-up the FK's and play some ugly hard-nosed football! The silky football we're capable of was only coming in patches... he had to see that we needed to finish the game by whatever means - preferably by scoring goals, but I'll take changing to a more solid defensive formation for the last 20-mins whilst we're running the slimmest of leads!

Route-1 works! Especially against a team with rank CB's and GK that the likes of The Rangers have!

FFS, we have a far better defence than them, yet even they managed to bag a goal from a simple Route-1 ball. Funny that!

Pretty goals are all well and good, but I'll take the scrappiest of efforts if it puts distance on the scoreboard!

The rules state he isn't interfering with play, he would be if he touched the ball when offside, blocked a pass or the goalkeepers line of sight etc.

When Miller plays the ball he's onside and it's the second phase of play. It is a bit of a grey area and I wasn't 100% on it either but apparently it's legal. Supposedly craig Bellamy done the same thing against wolves in 2009 but I can find a video of it haha.

I would have been * off aswell, due to him being a wee diving *.

Don't know about all of you but I'm sick of being pumped with these square scorelines... no, wait! :giggle1:
