This is a great idea from a business standpoint as the MLS and NASL has more money in the leagues than Scottish Football. One downside is the new club may end up signing bigger named players than the original team.

Could be why we are cutting costs etc for long term assests and gains..

We'll see. Anything that benefits us long term, as long as we can see the goals, i'm all for..

If that happens then I'd be all for it.

Another good side to this would be the Drogba's etc.
who end up esentially playing in Celtic tops.

Not sure how this works, would the profits the franchise had go to our shareholders?would our club need to bail franchise out if it was making a loss?would they be our feeder club?would they sign top older players eg lampard, gerrard pirlo and loan them to us as man city did with lampard,The person who broke the story should have given more indepth details

    Pure nonsense.

The american and asian import markets are both dominated by EPL and the big two from Spain.

What do we have to offer in terms of marketability? With the almost now redundant "Irish american connection" in the USA and our brief but beautiful love affair with Nakamua....

... we have * all to challenge with

Don't underestimate Celtic's support in the States and Asia. I have met more Celtic fans in the States than in Scotland

Can we add a poll to this to see if it's a goer with all of us? :50:
I think it's an amazing idea.

Just to be clear, we wouldn't have a club in the MLS. It would be the 2nd tier, so the idea of Drogba's playing in hoops is a bit unrealistic. The 2nd tier of American soccer is alright quality wise but nothing like the top league obviously. Still think it would be a nice idea and it would probably not be as expensive as some might think it is.

I understood that. Still think it's a great idea. If I can have a team to support in the U.S. That's exciting.

If they do this it's supposed to be the North American Soccer League which is the 2nd tier in USA behind the MLS and ahead of United Soccer League

I meant to ask. Can teams win promotion from that to the MLS? Does it work that way. Cus to eventually, potentially having like a 'Boston Celtic' in the MLS would be totally amazing.
