Was thinking the same. Increases the chances of us having to split the pot with the * all things being equal.

Exactly! If we both make it then it isn't about £40M for us, it's about £25-30M each...

Porto, Ajax and Zagreb would do me from that if it turns out that way.

DOB aint getting there but a nice Real Madrid, Juventus, Leverkusen for them if they do would be brilliant. 6 pumpings.

Looks like we’re going to get a very rough group unless we are very fortunate which we never are in these draws :giggle1:

Something like Milan, Chelsea and Sporting Lisbon would be good. Can’t * wait. Definitely taking the day off for every game (games are on during the day in my time zone) :party048:

At least the internationals wont interfere with the GS.
Scotland play Ukraine home and away and Ireland at home in between GS matchday 2 and matchday 3

If that were to be true in the end, I bet celtic get the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Inter Milan.

To have even the remotest chance of trying to progress we'd have to have a group more akin to Ajax, Arsenal, Zagreb.

Thing is though is Shaktar even going to be able to play games at this rate with situation in Ukraine?

If they somehow don't win the Europa there will have to be a significant rebuild before the qualifiers. If the board go all out and they do another Malmö they will be on the brink again

Quietly confident about next season for us in Europe there were signs this season we can match up against quality away from home and score goals. The huns love playing on the fact we were put out of 3 competitions but in reality the champions league qualifiers we done well to field a starting 11 never mind qualify with the shitshow Ange had inherited.

In the europa if our defence was as settled as it was after xmas we would have held leads against leverkusen and betis away also seem to remember ajeti leading the line in a few games. And not 100% sure but think Ange changed the front 3 after an hour in leverkusen with a cup game in mind and it weakened the team and they scored 2 in the last 10 mins plus we finished with 9 points good enough to qualify out of half the groups and ironically more than they got out there group with with 8 points.

The conference league i think that was just a distraction that was unwelcome when the league was priority.

Long winded but I'm optimistic about next season getting 3rd and atleast the Qf of europa HH

Very presumptuous to put the Huns in the group stages considering they'd be in the Non-Champions path.

To give you a flavour, last season it was: Monaco, Shakhtar Donetsk, Benfica and PSV in the play-offs.

Obviously they've done reasonable in the Europa League 2-legged ties but Malmö stuffed them with 10-men and they are all a step up in quality.

Yeah it it a bit. If they progress on Thursday I think they’d end up winning it unless West Ham turn it around they would give them a tougher game. How does it work in the league path is their seeds? Keep seeing them say they are seeded for it. They have the EL won in their eyes by the sounds of it so if they do get go out Thursday and we win Saturday a major meltdown will occur over there.

Either way it's unlikely it's going to be £40 million from UEFA for being in group stage , The tv pool has been massively scaled down so I think even if it was just us we'd only get £5 million

Rangers are below us in the 10 year coefficent ranking, which is more important, so if they knocked out a team above us in that it would cancel it out a bit

    participation fee £13.7 m + pool money £5 m/2.5m + coeffecient £6.5 million( based on teams predicted to qualify)= £22.7/£25.2 Million

Because of their ranking, Benfica and Ajax will both get £20-£25 milion from 10 year coeffecient alone!
