Celtic in Champions League changing face as Pot 3 is caught up in dramatic twist

So, how is the draw shaping up? Pot 4 is where most of the teams who emerge through the qualifying rounds will be placed, although Benfica will head straight to Pot 3 if they progress through the playoff round. But there was a notable late season switch-up instigated by a dramatic end to the Premier League and Bundesliga campaigns that makes an already daunting Pot 3 look that bit more intimidating.

Tottenham pipped Arsenal to England's final Champions League spot and their coefficient placed them in Pot 2. And in Germany, although RB Leipzig finished behind Borussia Dortmund in the table, their late push into fourth place ensured they still made the group stage. Leipzig's higher club coefficient also placed them in Pot 2 ahead of Dortmund, which pushes BVB down into a Pot 3 which already includes Inter, Napoli and most likely Benfica.

Here's how the draw is currently shaping up with qualifiers still to play...

Manchester City, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, AC Milan, PSG, Porto, Ajax

Pot 2

Liverpool, Chelsea, Barcelona, Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Tottenham RB Leipzig

Borussia Dortmund, RB Salzburg, Shakhtar Donetsk, Inter, Napoli, Sporting, Bayer Leverkusen, TBC

I would take Eintracht Frankfurt, RB Liepzig and Sporting thank you! Although that would definitely be a hun draw.

Our luck would be more Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Inter .........

 

You can't have 2 clubs from the same nation in a group

 

And you can't play a parent team? ie the redbull teams? That's a good way to avoid teams lol

Also the TBC in pot 3? If they're still qualifying surely they go in pot 4? Absolutely crazy rule bending by Uefa

I'm not hoping for anything until the group stage draw is made.

No point demanding progress in Europe when we've just jumped from Conference League to CL and first not knowing who we are facing

Ange and Celtic have been a match made in heaven no doubt but the jump in class is ficking evident, we will no doubt get a real * of a group and likely get some scuddings as a result from teams like Real Madrid, Liverpool, and others.

 

They're not called "The Bad *" for nothing. Wouldn't want to mess with them

I know there is a chance of getting gubbed but look forward to a CL game more than the huns game. Better atmosphere too.

 

Watching the game last night and hearing that CL theme song got me proper in the mood. Can't wait.
