Billy sharp play for Scunthorpe who have turned down a 1.5 million bid for the player and it is suspected he will be allowed to leave for 2.5 million but will celtic match the price for the league one striker ?

I think we should he is 21 and look at this goal scoring record:

Sheffild utd---------- 2 games no goals

    Rushden& diamonds --16 games 9 goals

    Scunthorpe ----------82 games 53 games

Thats a way better record than zurawski's yes he is in a smaller league but he is only 21 and league one.

It's his first season for Scunthorpe and he has scored 31 goals this season.

    At Scunthorpe
    In detail:

    05-06-----45 games--24 goals---0.53 goals per game

    06-07-----50 Games--32 goals---0.64 goals per game

WGS is hunting young future English internationals, we were strongly linked to David Nugent before he got his first cap and goal, it's a clever move as even the most mediocre English player can go for a high price, we could get loads if Sharps what he's cracked up to be.

Wouldn't buy him for more than £2million. He's completely unproven at the top level. Sheffield Wednesday are favorites to land him ffs. If he was that good a prospect top clubs would be straight in there from the Prem.

For a young gun from a wee league he is def a prospect that would be worth £2,000,000. Worth a look IMO!:celt_2:

I said I'd pay £2million for him if he really does look like the real deal. Its a risk though and Strachans risks don't seem to pay off.
