I'm taking the word "complete" as meaning precisely that - completed. Not suspended, not cancelled, not voided, not "ended" but Completed. As in, final standings. Be it that all games done, or the FA calls it as it stands come that date.

It's obvious there won't be a null and void..

Just come out and call it as it is though. For example if we can't get it done by these dates then final positions will stand..

I've still yet to see any league say they'd opt for a null and void. Italy and Spain want it to finish. Ours and England talking about it but calling winner's if that isn't doable with no appetite to write the whole season off..

Typical them, they will try everything to hold that.

Meanwhile across the country organisations have cancelled events as far away as October due to this - but right in the peak of summer and when this virus is still to be high, and these * are still holding out that they can march their *.

 

I read Uefas announcement as you have to this date to complete your season. Expect FA to announce that if league is not completed by date standings will be upheld

 

It doesnt matter how u read or interpret it, it is deliberately open to interpretaion and needs to be clearer.

Was listening to the debate on Ssn there with Jamie Redknapp and co and no even a mention of null and void. Haven't heard anyone down here really talk about it or even mention it bar Karen Brady who is in a relegation fight with West Ham..

 

So why are the Huns getting excited at the prospect???

They thought today would be d-day and we'd be given the league most probably but they can cling to a last hope that the season won't go ahead in any way shape or form and it'll be null and void..

Thick as * as it either will at some point in the future or we'll be declared champion's..

Surely we aren't all needing educated on what the word "complete" means? it does not mean "canceled" "withdrawn" "ignored" "void" "forgotten"

 

I can’t see Uefa going down the voiding route but they need to come up with something to solve problems like relegation.

For most clubs in second place, the options look like this:

A: First place teams get the title, they lose.
B: Null and Void league, they still lose.

Maybe some of them would benefit if they used last season European placing, but that is clearly far more unfair than declaring results early.

Only bitter clubs like the Huns would actively pursue a course that is only intended to punish other teams.

The two problems they really need to solve are extremely close-run leagues and relegation. For close-run I would say a playoff might be suitable or use average points. (Of course, voiding doesn’t help these situations either..)

For relegation I think the easiest solution should be financial compensation or in our case league alteration for next season.

Why ‘null and void’ can’t happen is that no money will be paid out.

The SPFL aren’t going to pay out for a null and void league.

UEFA aren’t going to pay out for a null and void league.

The huns don’t want the league trophy handed to Celtic but want prize money handed to them!

Not a chance......it’s both or nothing, and they’re looking for £15million from UEFA.

They would rather go bust and take everyone with them, (except Celtic) than give Celtic the league title.

My suggestion would be cancel the international playoffs till what would be some normal international dates next season but also cancel what would have been next seasons nations league dates outright. That way you can finish this current domestic season in July maybe. Start next season late to give players a break . Take international windows from next season that would have been nations league games and use them to make up domestic games to make up for starting next season late.
