Agreed mate, I prefer to catch my infectious respiratory diseases in the winter or spring so it doesn't interfere with my Santa Ponsa trips.

I’d assume common sense would prevail and all teams top of the league at the time of suspension would be awarded the title.

Unless there’s another way for them to confirm who’s in next seasons CL and EL that I don’t know about.

The mortality rate is 20 times that of influenza, and might even be higher.

It's not overly dangerous to the young and healthy, but it's far worse than flu.

A major reason people get flu and cold multiple times is largely down to different strains of virus

In Chile last year, when the league was interrupted due to the protests, they declaring the team who was leading the table by a good margin the champion regardless, and just cancelled the relegation.

To the young, healthy, and that arent healthcare workers constantly exposed to the virus the mortality is almost zero. This is not a reason to not give a * about this but this is not the spanish flu.

Nobody can say for real how much is the mortality rate. It could be much lower than the two percent used around because there might be a * ton of non reported cases, specially because in a sizeable number of people the disease is assymptomatic

Can't we just play a game a day for the next 2 weeks and get it over before we get a forced shut down.:57:

There has only been a few cases in scotland so far so i think we are a long way off things getting shut down.

You sound young. It probably won't permanently damage you; but you'll be infectious several days before you notice any symptoms. In that time you run a high risk of infecting family and friends. Perhaps you have elderly family members, or family members with things like asthma, maybe someone in your family just had a baby. Maybe you are lucky and you don't infect any of these high risk groups among your loved ones; but maybe you infect a friend who infects a friend who loses a loved one as a result.

Please don't be so daft as to court infection. You need to think things through a few more steps, mate.

Apologies if your post was in jest and I missed the humour.

Spot on re mortality rate. Think some people getting confused between rate and actual deaths which are 2 entirely different things.

Also, is the Chinese data even close to accurate and it's the best we have to go on.

    There's no way of knowing.

Edit: on reflection, some of what I wrote here was probably more suitable for HP&R than CC.

Should we be worried? Only time will tell on this one.

From the WHO. ' Most people (about 80%) recover from the disease without needing special treatment. Around 1 out of every 6 (16.7%) people who gets COVID-19 becomes seriously ill and develops difficulty breathing. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like high blood pressure, heart problems or diabetes, are more likely to develop serious illness. About 2% of people with the disease have died. People with fever, cough and difficulty breathing should seek medical attention.'

The problem a lot of people online have mentioned would be the spread of this getting out of hand at which point medical centres become overwhelmed and then there is no specialist or even basic medical care for sufferers. This would relate to not just people in the higher risk areas. At this point the mortality rate could and most probably would increase quite dramatically.

Apparently the RAH is already needing extra doctors from the QEUH and Port Glasgow/Inverclyde, and this is unrelated.

People severely underestimate how quickly things can get out of hand and seriously overestimate the competency of governments and people in charge.

The mortality rate of influenza is near impossible to work out due to the amount of undocumented cases in this country.
Most * sit in bed for a week on Lemsip and chicken soup sweating it out, no doctor informed.
