    Sad but true.

However, if I get a vote no doubt I'm still going for N+V.

Scottish football could get the ALL CLEAR for fans to return to stadiums with no cap on numbers, according to National Clinical Director Jason Leitch.

Punters were locked out of grounds from lockdown in March last year until Euro 2020, but only a reduced crowd was allowed at Hampden.

But in a boost to supporters ahead of the domestic season starting, Leitch said the removal of all restrictions in Scotland on August 9 could pave the way for fans to return to stadiums

That would mean the first games fans could see in person would be on August 14 and 15, when the Premier Sports Cup second round takes place.

And it means the first Old Firm game of the season could also have a FULL HOUSE.

Speaking on BBC Sunday Show, Leitch was asked if stadiums will be full after August 9.

He said: “Yes, they can on August 10th, but we've had to learn that new word, that indicative word, so we have given advice that with a fair wind the trajectory we are presently on with vaccinations, remember, we are vaccinating 300,000 people every 10 days so that's a lot of vaccine and this six weeks buys us quite a lot of vaccine time.

"If people come and that's the important thing people can do then, yes, we hope August 9th and 10th can happen."

The most likely stumbling block will be if certain areas of the country experience a significant outbreak around the time of the so-called Freedom Day.

Leitch admitted that if such a situation did arise, it could lead to

“On August 9th, the level system disappears, unless, for instance, there were particular hotspots or the country didn't do what we hope it will do. Maybe vaccinations slow down for some reason.

"It's a little bit indicative, then on August 9th all physical distancing is removed and the limits on event sizes are removed."

I will be very surprised if the huns game will even have half to 3/4 the capacity let alone a full house Paul! * it would be good to see, but theres to many iffs and buts and whataboutry between now and then that will not make this happen. Insaying that, i hvent been keeping track much about other countries but is there anywhere that has full capacity or had done before there season finished.

Hungary have had full crowds during the Euros I think. I don't think you would want to watch a game there, their government and a lot of their fans seem to have some pretty outdated and backwards views on equality etc

The thought of a full Paradise for a European night is giving me a raging stauner tbh.

We’re delighted to announce the Club has been given permission for 2,000 supporters to attend our pre-season friendly match against Preston North End at Celtic Park on Saturday, July 17. This is the maximum number of supporters we are allowed to welcome back to Paradise presently.
We are using this as our own preparatory event, under COVID-19 protocols, which will allow us to use and assess all areas of the stadium. Ticket allocation has been split among Season Ticket holders and Club contractual obligations

All Season Ticket Holders who registered their My Celtic Matchday application up until 5pm on Wednesday were included in the ballot, the process of which is now underway.
As the friendly match is a preparatory event, it is independent of future ballots for upcoming competitive fixtures - although any supporters who are successful for this match will be ineligible for any ballot for our match against West Ham on July 24, therefore giving other supporters the opportunity to attend.

Supporters who have been successful in the ballot will be informed via email as soon as possible – we ask that you check your junk or spam folders in case this is missed. Match tickets will be sent in a subsequent email, which must be printed at home. Entry to the stadium will only be possible with the physical print at home ticket.
Your allocated seat, entry time and stadium entry point will be included on your print at home ticket. Please note, the seat allocated to you may be different to your regular Season Ticket seat.

We ask that you familiarise yourself with our new protocols for reduced capacity matches at Celtic Park – full details of which can be found on the Celtic website here.
Should we have a mobile number for you, we’ll also send you a text message reminder on the morning of the match with relevant reduced capacity attendance information.
Please visit our Returning Fans FAQs and Preston Ballot FAQs for everything you need to know about reduced capacity matches at Celtic Park, including protocols within the stadium, the ballot process, travel advice and much more.

It’s been too long since we had you at Celtic Park and we cannot wait to have you back! Celtic continues to work tirelessly to ensure we get as many Season Ticket holders back to Celtic Park as quickly as we can.
If you were unsuccessful in this ticket ballot, the Preston North End match is live on the Pass To Paradise for all Season Ticket holders.
Fans can also follow the action here on Celticfc.com via our interactive Match Centre which starts 90 minutes before kick-off.

Aberdeen are believed to have submitted an Appeal to health officials & Local authority for 8,000 spectators, so a sign that wee should be looking for north of the 20,000 mark.

Celtic are in talks with the Scottish Government and Glasgow City Council to have 18000 fans at their Champions League qualifying clash with Danish side Midtjylland next Tuesday.

The discussions come just hours after First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said the whole of Scotland will move to level zero coronavirus restrictions on Monday.

That means the return of fans to stadiums, with 2000 seated fans permitted. However, clubs can apply to stage larger events following the easing of restrictions.

Celtic have already received permission for 2000 supporters to attend their pre-season friendly against Preston North End at Parkhead on Saturday.

But they hope to have thousands more cheering on the side for the crucial European qualifier against Midtjylland, which will be Ange Postecoglou’s first competitive home fixture as Celtic manager.

Celtic have pleaded with the authorities to let as many as 20,000 fans into next week’s Champions League showdown with Midtjylland.

The move comes after Nicola Sturgeon announced that clubs will be given the green light to have crowds of 2000 back inside Scotland’s grounds from Monday.

But Record Sport can reveal new Parkhead chief executive Dominic McKay immediately followed up the First Minister’s announcement by submitting a special application to have 10 times that number permitted for the crunch qualifier against the Danes.

The FM left the door open for clubs to request bigger attendances when she confirmed the next stage of relaxing Covid restrictions, including taking the padlocks off turnstiles when the country moves into level 0 at the start of next week

But McKay is pleading Celtic’s case by pointing out that 12,500 Scotland fans were allowed into Hampden for the Euros last month despite the rules at the time only allowing for 500.

Record Sport understands Celtic were still waiting for an answer last night after opening discussions with politicians and health chiefs who are still nervous about unlocking, despite feeling the heat as England pushes ahead with lifting restrictions.
