Totally. Trying to get extra match days into a season where games or weekends may be cancelled because of COVID seems insane to me.

yup time to get all dictatorship on non compliers

if clubs dont come up with an acceptable solution and get their players tested regularly they can get relegated instead of hearts and thistle

If Celtic and Ross County have bought the equipment and are ready then all matches that other teams dont turn up due to them not buying the equipment should be awarded 3-0 scorelines to Celtic and Ross County.

James Anderson has reached an agreement with the SPFL Trust to make a donation of over £3m to help clubs.

Every SPFL side will be eligible for a £50,000 grant - provided they give evidence of community benefit.

It won’t be but that money should be routed directly to the clubs to which 50k is a literal lifeline and not a drop in the ocean. If it were, not only would it be more than 50k but it would actually do genuine good for Scottish football.

If there’s even 50% take up at top league clubs then it’s a waste. Every penny might be a prisoner for all clubs at the moment but the difference between that 50k being in the bank and not means survival for lower league clubs and maybe making a single person redundant at another within the top division.

Agree with that, should be reserved for Championship, League 1 and League 2 clubs.

In my opinion, reconstruction is an absolute necessity this season. I hate them but having Hearts and the Edinburgh Derby’s are huge for the benefit of the game. Probably the only game in the Scottish league that doesn’t have one of Celtic and Rangers in it that’s a real passionate affair. These wee teams are * bent on not doing the best for the benefit of Scottish football. Strachan was spot on with what he said, these wee teams are having a say on the future of the game and they’re barely able to keep their own clubs afloat. Couldn’t care if some of them go in the process. We have too many clubs doing nothing as it is.

50k is not going to make much difference to us as a club. Hope they don't take it.

Looks like it. Seems designed to avoid relegation for anyone. Needs 11 out of 12 premiership clubs to vote for it though. More games probably means more money for most of the club's but also higher risk of COVID disrupting the season I'd guess.

We were told it wasn't to keep the diets up after their failed attempt..

This is a guy who has already put 3 mill in to them and is a pal of Budge..

Now he's to whack this money in to Scottish football with no strings attached and what, 2 day's later another reconstruction vote is being arranged around the table..

I get where you are coming from but there is nothing to say that if we don't use the cash then others can apply for more!

The cash is not to be used for salary etc but Celtic could definitely put '50k donation' to good use. Disabled supporters for instance, or womens / girls football could certainly use cash to improve their standing. I am sure there are many good uses for this money and if it is aimed at communities then the local community around Celtic Park should be looked after just the same as every other club.

Assuming the 50k is shared if we put it back in the pot would mean all other clubs benefit just over a grand.. so not very much. I think our club should try hard to put this 50k to good use - - and if the club want to make a good gesture then they can match the amount.
