I see daily mail have ran with this as well as uefa saying "playoff"

Only issue with that is, if the league games can not be completed as normal, then what makes a play off game being played any different?

My take on the "format" was more to allow behind closed doors.

The usual suspects will look to any glimmer of hope that they can derail this 9th title...

I think we already have a different format with the split... if pre-split games were completed then the matches can conclude as 2 independent mini leagues anyway.

I think concluding the top end on ‘sporting merit’ might only need a few games. The relegation situation could run to the full 38 games.

Anyway..., it’s kind of just buck passing again by uefa but I suppose they want leagues to independently have a chance to complete...
.. but they have clearly laid out the terms and conditions for ending season 19/20 even if they’ve not made a blanket call themselves.

I think (and who’d have ever thought it?) that Ms Sturgeon will have the final say on this.

I think where the points are level a one-off 'final' to decide positions makes sense, especially where titles, european football and relegation are concerned. Maybe that's what they're alluding to.

In the Dutch League for example the points are level at the top. You could see how they could try and get that one match played at some point just to conclude that league.

I can see the logic, certainly for teams level/within one game.
But then in Holland, 3 other teams are still in the running, as far as doing that one off play off is concerned for sporting merit, the others may still feel they have a merit as well (they wouldn't, but the argument can still be made same as the Huns try to).

And then we still have the factor that a one off play off match (neutral venue?) Still needs to be played, and if one match can be played, then two can be played...etc..etc...

I think because of uefa and tv deals, football will be played BCD. However I have thought for weeks if * are genuinely interested in health and safety and/or sporting integrity then leagues should just be paused for a year. Start again mid March next year n finish every league then just miss a season that was never started. As much as Celtic is a part of my life I would be willing to accept that. So I'm alright Jack, however going back to fairness I would be worried about how this affected other teams and their fans with less resource. In terms of * telling other teams to just merge I would consider how different that is from UEFA just telling Scotland to put a merged team in the CL n just get on with it.

I think the League will be called tbh, prize money can then be handed oot.

There is an argument to wait and see what happens over the coming weeks, but we are nearly into the month of May, and given what the first minister has said it looks highly unlikely there will be fitbaw any time soon.
