To be fair to him he's communicated with the players a lot better than the coaching team have at any point this season.

Nice to see someone looking even vaguely interested.

Feel sorry for him in all honesty, clearly stood up when required and deserved better than that sucker punch at the end.

Watching him coaching from the side tonight was better than watching Kennedy standing there with that dour face of his.
Wasting his time on that * laptop.
Obviously not the answer but nice to see a bit of enthusiasm from the bench.

Hats off to him tbh. Lennon couldn't get a draw tonight even if everyone was available.

A very, very minuscule part....an almost irrelevant part.

He’s not Celtic class, hence why we got him from Peterborough. No problem with him personally but part of the problem in the sense he’s far beneath where we should be. Honestly he would struggle to get a coaching job at Hibs.

GAVIN STRACHAN insists Celtic have no regrets over their ill-fated Dubai trip.

The Hoops No3 was stand-in boss for the 1-1 draw with Hibs after Christopher Jullien’s positive Covid test decimated the squad.

Neil Lennon, John Kennedy and 13 isolating players missed out - but Strachan defended taking the crocked Frenchman on the trip.

He said: “There's regret that one person has caught the virus but there's not a regret in terms of the permission we got to go and the protocols that we followed, which we have done the whole season.

“It's regrettable that we got one positive, which we could have got at any time.

“It’s a trip that’s been done over the last few years and it has yielded very positive results, so the thinking behind it was to maintain that and try to galvanise and push in the second half of the season.

From me as a coach, the work we did out there was absolutely fantastic. We had more time to work on certain elements of our game because of the good weather.

“The only regrettable thing is that someone has come back with a positive test.”

On Jullien jetting to the Middle East he explained: “It was to maintain his treatment with the backroom staff, he went over there so we can get him back as fast as we can.”

Strachan also refused to give up on the title after Celtic lost more ground on leaders Rangers.

Kevin Nisbet’s injury-time strike cancelled out David Turnbull’s stunning free-kick opener.

The Hoops are now 21 points behind their Old Firm rivals - with three games in hand.

But Strach said: "You just have to keep going. There's a lot of football still to be played and you never know what's going to happen.

"Obviously it's a frustrating time just now but we need to get the win on Saturday, keep racking up the points and see what happens.

There were a lot of positives from the game but then we got a suckerpunch at the end.

It's a tough one to take to concede so late. It was just the manner of the goal that was quite hard to take.

"We now crack on with preparations for Livingston and then carry on.

"I am not sure about the game after that, it's just been a whirlwind 48 hours.”

Strachan revealed Lennon was in constant contact and defended teenage sub Armstrong Oko-Flex after was spotted wearing a headphone on the touchline.

He said: "It was fine for me and when you work with good people it makes it easy.

"Neil was on the phone a little bit.

There were a few tactical bits and he was telling us to keep the energy up.

"Armstrong had an earpiece in so that Neil could talk to him before he went on.

"It was good for a young player to hear the manager before he went on the pitch. We use every bit of technology we can.

The younger boys stepped up and we learned a good bit about them.

"They were up against a physical Hibs team and they coped well for the most part.

Anyone in our situation would try to tap into that to motivate the players.

"We were pleased with the performance levels and we thought we'd done enough to win the game.”

Turnbull’s free-kick was one of the few bright spots on a day to forget for Celtic.

Strachan said: "David had a couple of setbacks with Covid and other stuff but we always knew he had ability.

"It was about getting him up to speed with the club and what we want.

"He is a superbly talented player and he's showing that.”

While he was forced into the situation he showed some balls tonight so fair play, do have some sympathy for him because really the biggest thing he gets battered for is being brought in our worst season in years, not really his fault when your manager is a * absolute divvy and hasn't a clue about managing a football team. Also him on a laptop isn't really a big deal when he'll just be getting analysis from our analysts and he'll be showing that and replays to the chuckle brothers.

Either way will probably be out of a job come end of the season.

Generally first team managers and coaches don’t. There will be occasions where a few of the youth team are picked to train with the 1st team that have been recommended by the youth coaches or there is a possible injury crisis i.e we have no fit left back. I don’t imagine we do that very often the way our club is run.
