Yes, he even put a backspin on the ball so the pass would not go too long for Kyogo to get. Clever lad.

Very happy to see Scales play - he looks very capable and calm on the ball.

To be honest I was expecting more of a contest from Ferencvaros on the night.

I think Celtic overall are playing at 65% of their potential so far this season and we are only nearing November.

Once we have the other players back and embedded in to the system we will be a better squad and team all round and winning the League this season will be a real possibility, including some good signings in the January window. I want to see Welsh be given more game time in case Starfelt gets injured or weary.

Tonight, allowing for the subs, we played without Johnston, GG, Bitton, Scales, Forrest, Julian, Juranovic, Taylor, Welsh, Soro. Bolingoli. That is eleven outfield players, not including Shaw, Henderson, Dembele, and the other right back who does not come to mind.

Can’t stop watching the Jota-Kyogo goal, phenomenal pass, control and finish. Most naturally gifted forward since Larsson imo.

    Some observations.

Kyogo is a superstar for Celtic and a team player. He has been scoring in virtually every game he has played this season.

Abada needs a rest now that Johnstone, and soon Forrest, will be available to play. The 19 year old has had a fine run since starting in the team since Day One and has scored goals as well. He does now need a rest and a re-charge and a chance to reflect on his game. He has done a lot in a short space of time and to his credit. Acclimatising to a new city and a new way of life, and getting to know his team mates is a big ask for anyone. He also has been representing his country during this time as well.

Giakoumakis has steadily been improving his fitness to get ready to play . However I feel there may be more to this . I feel George may be overwhelmed at first with his good fortune in signing for such a big club as Celtic. Also that there is an incredible expectation on him to be an instant goal scorer as soon as he sets foot on the pitch. He has moved from VVV Venlo, that has a stadium holding 8000 fans, to the Paradise that holds over 60,000 plus fans. Also the setup is first class compared to what he has been used to and he must have been overawed at first.

I looked him up on Wikipaedia. He has won awards with Venlo the previous season.
He tends to score in the second half of the match and scored a hat - trick in his first game. He also has scored 4 goals in a match twice in that season, and regularly scored single goals also. He was top scorer in the Eredivie that season with 26 goals with a club that got relegated.

He has played in big games in bigger stadiums than at Venlo .against teams such as Ajax, PSV, Feyernoord, AZ, Groningen, Vitesse etc. Now he is with the top team in Scotland. Do not know how long it took for George Samaras to find his feet at Celtic but some advice for GG is needed. Once he feels accepted and loved, you will see that great Greek aspect of character that will come from him - 'filotimo'. This means acting with the utmost of honesty and self respect to do the right thing as a person and behave honourably.

He needs to be reassured of his place at Celtic. He needs to relax and play his natural game without any stress and he will come good, given the natural attributes that he has proven he has in the past. Along with Kyogo, they will be scoring goals for Celtic this season.

Some guy named Kieran Devlin has been writing negative stuff on Liam Scales and attempting to put the mockers on him in regards to him having no future at Celtic.

Scales needs to ignore toxic comments like this because they hide ulterior motives and have nothing to do with his footballing abilities. He has great abilities and that is why he is at Celtic now. I can see him being there for the next 6 years minimum as Celtic go into a golden period moving forward with a young and cohesive talented squad of players.

Scales looks the goods, has the height we need and is composed on the ball and moves well. He will be perfect playing at left back or at left CB where Starfelt is playing now. He is an integral part of the rotation squad that Ange wants and that Celtic needs to be a modern powerful club with ambition, based on good football played by good players who want to make a solid career in the game. It will also allow Celtic to be able to put out a team each game with fresh legs and rest players with knocks, without undermining the performance levels of the team on the pitch, both at home and especially away from home - including Europe.

People like Devlin always have an agenda.

He’s the Athletic’s Celtic correspondent. What’s his agenda?

He’s said that people around the first team haven’t been that impressed with Scales since he joined. He’s been told that Scales is well down the pecking order at present. Hardly ground breaking, Taylors out and Ange has been playing a 19 year old ahead of Scales. Ange also prefers Bolingoli to him.

Devlin has also said that he’s been told Shaw and Urhogide are miles off it and aren’t at the level the club had hoped. Again, hardly ground breaking. Their absence since pre season confirms as much.

If you want something more positive, he’s stated that the club are very impressed with Lawal and are hopeful he could make a few first team appearances this season.

Don’t go looking for an ‘agenda’ that isn’t there

You see it your way, I will see it mine. As far as I am concerned Scales is being undermined when stuff like this is exposed to the public. Ange has a squad to run and he knows what he is doing. He will sort out persons who attempt to undermine his work, both short term and long term.

People around the first team have not been impressed ? He has been told ? What the * is that ? Is that journalism ?
Who has been saying what ? Are you telling me he represents Celtic or he is there to pick the eyes out of players earning a living at the club by being a 'Celtic correspondent' ?

He needs to name names and stop suggesting there is a mole in the Celtic ranks.

Otherwise * off and get a job somewhere else. I hope Ange reads this.

I think Ange will have better things to be doing than reading some of the * that's posted on this forum and if he doesn't then we do have a problem tbh.
