Welsh should replace him FFS

 

Mind just after we signed him manager did a press conference and journo was talking about Starfelt and saying he looked like a ball playing CB etc (this was before he had played so I don't know where he got that from) and AP gave one of his wee sarcy one liners 'thats why I signed him mate'. I'd say he's def had some input in bringing him in. Got to hope he comes good but I'm just not seeing it. Someone like Souttar who isn't a world beater either but is decent on the ball looks better than him and would have cost peanuts comparatively.

 

Gets a hard time here when Welsh has arguably cost us alot more than this guy yet gets a free pass. Starfelt in defence and that goal doesn't happen.

 

Are you sure about that. I'd say there's every chance it happens and probably worse on top of that.

 

First two touches were dreadful, blootered it off McCarthy and then passed it to some * he saw the crowd I can only assume.

After that, he did OK.

 

Just need to choose one of him or Welsh and stick with them until Julien comes back (he can't come back soon enough btw). They both have their faults but need to be given a run in the team alongside CCV so they can build up an understanding.

Also thank * we signed CCV on deadline day.

Every game he has a lapse of concentration or * an easy pass in to danger..

Isn't costly against utter muck but good side's punish his sloppiness..

When will he go a game without giving it away in our own half under no real pressure?

He wasn't bad at all but just doesn't give me any confidence whatsoever..

 

Just does not do enough for me. Most of his passing is just sideways to CCV or the LB. He needs to be a lot braver at times, step forward, get his head up, be a bit more positive, copy CCV. So much for Anges ball playing CBs.

 

Thought he was fine last night. Should be him and CCV until Jullien is back.

 

Not good enough but better then Welsh imo. Will get punted the second Julien is back.

 

Would easily have Welsh ahead of him at this point.

 

Sure he was passing to CCV and McCarthy got in the way. Hartson made it out like it was the biggest mistake anyone's ever made, but it wasn't even Starfelt's fault.

 

I'd say he was mostly responsible, not sure what McCarthy was meant to do. Can't just blast it at someone from close range and hope it manages to get through or by him.

 

You seen the state of this thread when one single pass goes an inch away from his man? Don't blame him for taking the easy pass. Even got the blame for goals that fault is squarely on another player. Guy had a rocky start but nothing to suggest he won't be fine in the last few games as he is settling. Keep it up and the scape goating will move onto someone else.

 

He didn't blast it at him though. He was passing to someone else and McCarthy walked in the way. It's an accident, it happens. We don't need to hang anyone for it.

He was fine last night, but we need a settled defence soon, wouldn't shock me if Jullien us first choice again once he's fit.

 

Julien is our best defender. Of course he will be first choice.
