VVD had a stinking debut...

 

Jesus! Folk had this guy as the Messiah before ever having seen him kick a ball. And he cost a few million, not 50! Of course he wasn't going to be everything everyone wanted... Our players aren't even a week out of quarantine together and folk are expecting prime Barcelona! Give the guy a chance! We've had hundreds of players pass through the team who were written off in the first game, or even before... There's no way he could possibly fix the * of our defence himself, on his first day...

 

First impressions are not good though. Forget about the rest of our failings, looking at him as a player - not good in the air, not quick, weak in the tackle, passing was not great. Some of that is solely on him and nothing to do with the rest of the team. Hopefully he improves with time, he has to. Before anyone starts I’m no writing him off it’s just my initial observations.

 

Ambrose had the greatest debute of all time...

 

Of course he was gonna be rusty, just in the country and at Tynecastle. Some poor moment's but also saw positives..

I know he's played left centre half plenty but he doesn't look the most comfortable on that side. I'd like to see him on the right side. His passing and turns were quite predictable because of the chopping on to his right and no being comfortable enough like a VVD or Ajer there..

Ideally get someone in who is actually left footed, or more of a natural on that side..

He'll come good. Was still good signs in amongst that shaky start. Was composed enough and his recoveries were on point..

 

Apart from the mistake for the goal he done quite well i thought to be honest.

 

Exactly but imagine we signed guys where you were saying....he looks a player and he's only had one session with the team, superb stuff.


Instead we're signing a guy that gets totally embarrassed for their first goal but oh well I suppose we give him a 'pass'.

 

Nerves

 

The goal wasn't his only mistake. He was nutmegged by boyce shortly aftewards. Misjudged the bounce of a ball to let Boyce in again. I could go on.

I also saw enough to suggest he had a decent side to his game though. He looked like he enjoyed an aerial battle. He looked strong too. Not afraid to muscle a player off a ball.

I'd like to see him and Welsh/Julien together. Bitton is a * *.

 

I won't judge a player till he gets at least 15 games in the side and will have a better idea then .
Again these players should have been in the door a month ago to play in the qualifiers and league games and it's the same old * show every season .

 

Thought he looked a tad uncomfortable on the left hand side of defence.

Powderpuff in the lead up to the goal, but not gonna judge him on one game.

 

Spot on assessment, I felt the same watching him .

 

Some players take a season,some take a few games and some hit the ground running right away.Im not judging the guy on one game.

Iv not been too impressed so far. Especially for the money paid. Hope he can show more as he settles into the team
