Spurs adamant on a permanent move.

Vickers adamant on a permanent move.

Celtic supporters adamant on a permanent move.

Player available for a comparative snip.

Celtic... Try their hand for a loan.

Absolute shambles. The way we are being run is like an oul miser millionaire, hoking about the VHS bargain bin when he's got a blu ray player at home, then arguing at the register that he wants half off, because the cover is scratched... And THEN tries to rent the * thing instead.

At this point it's just sheer, unadulterated incompetence.

I've never seen a club so inept in transfer dealings. We make the Sevco board look like the * Dragons Den.

At this point Im starting to suspect we've zero intention of signing even a quarter of the players we're being linked with. Just posturing and making noise with low ball offers to try and convince the fanbase that they're not sitting in their hands.

When your brand new manager, who should be playing nice, has to go public, TWICE in a week to try to force something to happen, you know your up * creek, using a paper clip as a paddle.

We are seriously being run like a club that just came out of insolvency.

I'm just * done at this point. Can do it anymore. Someone wake me up at Christmas so I can check the league table, then go back to sleep.

Agree with pretty much everything you said in the post above, but just to touch on this one point that I've quoted.

We have and very likely will always be linked with more players than we will sign. It's probably about right that only about a quarter we are linked with would be genuine interest/contact made anyhow. And probably half of those that we will actually sign.

A lot of agents of players and selling clubs will often cite Celtic (&/or that other lot, fwiw) as being linked to their players, often just used to as leverage to get a better offer from the actual club/s that they are looking at doing business with. More often than not it is complete bollocks. In truth, it doesn't take much to start a rumour and most newa outlets don't care if it is true or notm because that's just the nature of football transfer market - it's fueled far more by speculation and rumour than hard facts. That's pretty much been the way that it's gone over the past 25 years, as an effect of clubs either needing to be pragmatic and looking for an advantage in negotiations, players looking to engineer a move or agents looking for a better payday.

Celtic * about with loans. Gtf!!! Maybe sign someone?

Loaning half a team is part of the reason we are in a shambles.

I'd say the negotiations are on the price of a double deal. Him and Hart. Knowing us we've probably offered a million for the pair.

My concern is he’s the height of nonsense, and minus Jullien, we don’t have a senior centre-back over 6ft 1.

Before anyone says ‘Ajer wasn’t great in the air’, I do know “big” and “aggressive” aren’t the same things. A defender of any height has to be prepared to use whatever physique they have, and this guy being 6ft isn’t really a barrier to him doing that.

That said, it would be good to have someone in who gives us a height advantage. Can definitely see us remaining an easy target for set-pieces if we don’t. New 6ft 5 goalkeeper or not, he needs ample support in front of him.

    This..

We can't be having Starfelt and Vickers at just over 6 foot, when our whole side is pretty small..

You need at least 1 centre half to be dominant in the air and have some kind of presence. Having both of these playing, won't give us that at all..

It's a massive concern considering how woeful we already are at defending and attacking set pieces..

if he signed alongside mcarthy (6ft) and scales (6ft3) then our team when jullien was back would be not bad height wise

Its not the heading that's the issue.

More just the physicality side of things. Starfelt reminds me a lot of sviatchenko in the way he attacks the ball and marks attackers and that tends to be a style which gives away a lot of fouls etc.

Definitely think we still need someone more imposing.

I like the fact that he plays right back and centre back. Considering our squad depth having players who can play in more than one position is extremely useful. I think this would be a sensible investment.

Don't want. Would much rather Itakura but I can see us signing this guy on loan towards the end of the window or something.
