Debatable. He was always tidy and a goal threat. I think the fact that he is being used properly is the main factor.

Aye, it shows you what a difference it can make playing players in there most natural position.

    Aye, same boat.

Deserves to keep his place in the team. If we're sticking with this 433 he has to be in the midfield.

I always liked McGregor and had a few fights last year when the insanity of punting him was on the agenda. Why punt a useful squad player anyway? I'm glad we are playing him in the midfield though because it was * obvious that he was a midfield player and it always was. Today was good and our shape is better with him there ahead of Rogic. I would even go further by playing him deeper allowing him to break into the box late ala Lampard and this would also allow Commons to come into the middle more.

Like his attitude. Never hides and plays with a confidence that some others are lacking.

RD on Callum McGregor: "Been very good in the last 2 or 3 months. Had a break because of other circumstances.

RD: "He is showing a lot of confidence on the pitch, played very well today and he scored again which is important.

RD: "Callum has worked really hard & fantastic at training for a long time. He always does extra and he got his reward for that today."

That new deal seems money well spent now.

Done well again today but he's much more effective played centrally.

He is deceptively quick for a wee guy and can really carry the ball into the attacking third. Could improve his passing but is playing really well and scoring goals.

Will give him the benifit of the doubt for some of the passes down to the pitch but that's all I can fault him on, MOTM for me he gives us an extra edge driving forward constantly, tired a wee bit near the end but was brilliant all game.

He looks good in that central position. Works really hard, carries the ball well and gets into good scoring positions.

I don't think he's got an eye for a pass like Rogic does, but McGregor seems much more effective.

The position should be his to lose now. Has not let anyone down any time he's played in there.

Thank * Ronny finally figured out he was never a wide player, he has been a bonus in the middle of the park when others have let us down far too much

He is so good on the ball and his finishing is pretty good as well. Not too often that you get both! Don't think his passing is as bad as some people are making out! Seem to remember him playing a fantastic pass for Griffiths to score not too long ago!
Definitely is better in a central role whether attacking or a sitting role. Think I actually prefer him playing a deeper role as he can run with the ball and get the team further up the field.

Technically he has everything . He can beat a man , has good awareness , good touch , can drive forward , pick a pass , is great with both feet and has an eye for goal.

If he can add a bit more desire/grit/workrate than he can go to the very top imo.
