Still absolutely buzzing about this, it cannot be underestimated the loyalty being shown by Cal here.

Whatever he’s earning it’s a pittance compared to what he could be and he’s given that up to lead the team that developed him from a kid.

I can’t see past him, I think he’s an absolutely superb footballer and will now end his time at Celtic as an undoubted legend.

He better be the highest earner at the club now. He's earned it at it sends out a terrible message if he isn't.

    Well in son.

Do not risk him for that stupid EL game, at the very most a late runout, we need him. For league games. These away games are brutal and I'll stick to my original thoughts from weeks ago that these October games could well spell the end of any chance we have of the league.

Also, having the mettle to be captain after someone so influential as Brown.

Whatever we're paying him, he is worth it.

Aye, can't be stated enough as too many incorrectly said he wasn't captain material.

Contract means nothing.....glad he wants to stay but as we saw with KT if a big money offer comes in theres every chance he will be gone.

As i said im glad he want s to stay but i dont buy into all that loyalty stuff....at the end of the day everything has a price.

He must be sick sitting on the touch line watching that known he can’t do anything about it. If he’s not back for Aberdeen then we don’t win that game, simple as.

Ange Postecoglou says he will let Callum McGregor decide if he’s ready for Bayer Leverkusen.

And the Celtic boss is adamant he has no issues with his skipper heading off for Scotland duty next week despite a recent injury lay-off.

McGregor has returned to training after sitting out the last four games.

Postecoglou has no intention of rushing his captain back into action due to his importance to the group and had earlier in the day suggested he would miss out.

But the boss says the 28-year-old will know his physical situation better than anyone ahead of the Europa League crunch and said: “We haven’t ruled Callum out

He trained and we will just see how he pulls up. He may very well be involved.

He’s an experienced guy, he knows his body better than anyone else. But he is important to us so we don’t want to just rush him in there

If he feels comfortable, I will have a discussion with him and then we will make a decision from there.

“Obviously, there are still some hurdles to jump, but I’m hoping with him and a couple of others that we will get some game time from them whether that’s this or Sunday’s game [at Aberdeen].

“Then, with the international break coming after that, post-that we can have everyone available.

Although he’s been missing from recent club duty, McGregor has been named in the international side for the upcoming double header against Israel and Faroe Islands.

But Postecoglou has no concerns and said: “Steve Clarke has already said that if Callum plays then he will obviously take him.

“I see no reason why he shouldn’t select him, particularly if he’s pretty close to returning to play.

“While he’s away with the Scotland squad, I’m pretty sure he will get looked after as well as all the other players, so I have no issue with that.”

Great interview there said what needed to be said, few of you should listen to what he's saying about the style and system.
