Would struggle to replace him with £10m.

Left back, centre mid, right wing, left wing, off the striker, sure he's even played false 9 before (?), big goals in big games, and importantly, young/Scottish and a huge part of the teams core.

Probably one of the most unsellable assets we have, in the sense that he's not going to attract KT/Moussa/Rogic/Ajer money, and would be real hard to replace.

looking forward to him being even more of a mainstay next season and kicking on spectacularly

i always got the feeling the kid underestimated himself and his abilities but this season i think brendan has managed to get the boy to believe in himself believe that he is a celtic first team player deservedly

we see talents go by the wayside in scotland i think because they cant handle it, something to do with scottish psyche and being negative, young players in the past fail to reach their potential

this kid has great ability and still a lot of room for growth :57:

I don't think it is him under estimating himself but more him just being very humble. Any interview he is in he never comes across as arrogant and is very respectful of his co-players and his manager.

Under Ronny I didn't think he was good enough but now Brendan is getting everything out of him and he's become an integral part of the team. It is a joy to see so many of our youngsters step up to the first team and justifying being there , heady times for us ahead with a couple of good signings.

Problem was Ronny tried to turn him into an out and out winger, something he never was.

What makes McGregor so important is his versatility , he knows how to play all midfield roles and full back and he utilises that ability in every game. He's become a linchpin , a very unique balanced player.

We are not the finished article , there is more to come. Only now is Brendan finding the balance and structure of his side.

I’ve said it before. Callum went down to Notts County and he helped pull them up to be a better team. He was highly rated by the club and support. He done his foundations there and his appearances in Europe for us has turned him into a more superior player.

No he didn’t. Moved centrally under Rodgers.

    Ronny tried it exactly once.

No, McGregor played centrally more often than not (when he played) in Middle to 2nd half of Deila's 2nd season. I'm convinced of it

I’m not. I had this argument with my mate over and over at the time that McGregor should only play centrally as he’s never been a winger, I can remember when he tried it my mate saying see he’s still *.

I once regarded him as surplus to requirements, then as a useful squad player, now I regard him as a vital part of the squad.

He really is a useful little player. I wouldn't sell him at all.

The good thing is he's probably someone who will get better and better with age, as he's a naturally intelligent and technical footballer and the more experience and confidence he gains over the years the better and more consistent he'll become.

Arguably Brendan's most improved player this season from the original squad, Armstrong was last season Forrest and McGregor this season but you can't forget Brown under Brendan either last 2 seasons who's just deservedly won POTY , Tierney is coming on a ton too.

McGregor - He's great at picking up little pockets of space and a big goal threat , busy wee player and always neat and tidy on the ball.

You get players you can hypothesis about moving for large sums of money and aye fair enough someone might end up spotting him and making a bid. However, for me, we’ve got a lifer in McGregor and if he continues on the upward curve he’s currently on what a servant he’ll be.

Not only is he a fantastic player, in terms of technique, he’s a beacon of light for the entire Academy IMO. A guy capable of going toe to toe with Champions League level midfields, that’s what the Academy’s entire aim is.

He definitely played centrally more than once under Deila, around December '15/Jan '16 he had a run in the team centrally, and then played there a few times in the later part of the season as part of a midfield 3. I'm 100% convinced that McGregor was playing centrally before Rodgers arrived.

Armstrong was left. Gms and Forrest right. Johansen or Commons in the hole wasn't it largely?
