Yes, the Daily Record should be banned from Celtic Park. Furthermore, they should have been banned from Celtic Park years ago. The Scottish Sun too.

 

"Our sources tell us..." followed by * is 99% of their exclusives.

 

Banning TV cooperations or the rags is very petty in my opinion. What does it gain? It's the kind of actions the monkeys do, and that's why they are hated. Dont like what you see in a paper? Don't buy it, full stop.

Agree haven't even looked at a Scottish tabloid in years. Still a few older guys in work that are Celtic fans that buy it

 

I don't agree with the banning of journalists/media, having said that the 'record' obviously doesn't have them so ...its a YES from me, ban them.

And keep them banned until there is an 'update' issued amending the recent article, sadly its too late to do anything about the hearse and cracked Club badge, utter * enjoyed that edition no doubt).
Side issue now - Who the * buys it anyway ? Apart from orc's.

 

I don't think it's petty at all. Not in this instance anyway. The Record have been famous for years for sitting on anti-Celtic stories and publishing them in the week leading up to a match against Rangers. Their agenda couldn't be any clearer.

When a newspaper is trying to sabotage your business in order to hand your biggest rival a competitive advantage then I think it's absolutely fair game to cease co-operating with said newspaper and ban them from your premises.

 

They want them banned for telling the truth. We want them banned for spreading spurious lies about us and putting our employees in danger.

Their is a Grand Canyon sized chasm of a difference.

 

If they were posting negative but factual articles about us then there wouldn't be a problem.

Constant, negative bullshit from them.

One of the unsung freedoms that go with a free press is the freedom not to read it.

 

No-one is denying them the freedom of the press and some people are too thick to realise they shouldn't be reading their skewed pish. If there was a ban, it would highlight the matter and maybe more people would take the conscious decision not to buy the rag.

All I am calling for is a refusal to allow their "journalists" if you can call them that, into press conferences or matches at Parkhead and no cooperation with interviews etc.

Once the Level 5 influence has been gotten rid of, they would be able to come back. You have to remember, this isn't like Sevco's bans. We are not contractually obliged to deal with the Record. We receive no funding from the Record. We are not banning them because they are slating our performances or our management - this is purely to teach them a lesson in humility. We are the only show in town, and if they want to get included in our output, then the Level 5 hatchet jobs need to cease.
