Philadelphia union and US men's national team rising talent Brenden Aaronson isn't short of suitors.

Aaronson is the subject of widespread interest from Europe. MLSsoccer.com can confirm reports linking Hoffenheim, SC Freiburg, Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach with the player, per Bild, ESPN's Taylor Twellman, SportsBuzzer and others.

MLSsoccer.com can add, per a source, that Scottish giants Celtic and an unnamed Belgian club are also interested in acquiring Aaronson.

Aaronson, 19, is a Deebo academy graduate who broke through into the first team in 2019 when he made 25 starts for the Union. He earned his first call-up to the senior US national team in October. This season he has picked up right where he left off, with a goal and two assists across five starts.

A modern midfielder, Aaronson has thrived in the Union's high-pressing system. Bild dubbed Aaronson as the "US Kai Havertz", referring to the highly-rated German star who is reported to be closing in on a big-money transfer from Bayer Leverkusen to Chelsea.

Matt Doyle breaks down Aaronson's impact further:

Union head coach Jim Curtin recently discussed Aaronson's rise and laid out his next steps.

"Overall we've challenged him from last season... to get better at making the final ball, to get more goal-dangerous," Curtin said after Deebo's win over Inter Miami. "And he's really taken the next step. Everybody sees his work rate and ability to run and cover ground and cover distance. If he's going to make it as a No. 10 at the very highest level, and that's the ultimate goal for him, he's going to do it by being a volume player, a player that's on the ball all the time.

"And he might make a mistake 3-4 times but he's coming again at full speed. So that's something he's worked hard on: His final pass, his through balls, getting his shot off a little quicker in and around the box. He's taken big strides, but the Philadelphia Union, we're going to be greedy and push and demand more of him because he can play even better than he did tonight.

"We're going to continue to push Brenden because we see how much talent he has."

Would he be able to play, or will it be another Gutman and Perez effort?
Not going to get excited about it at all till we at least understand if he can play for us.

He has a senior cap for the states so that is apparently the difference. Same for the centre half linked few weeks ago. This guy will have plenty of offers mind, would be some business if we got him

    Sounds more promising then.
If it's possible, I'm always one for signing a GOOD player from the states or Asia, if they can also fit our style.
Great marketing and all that. But never to be done just for that reason alone.

On the hierarchy of American prospects (who are becoming much better than they used to be), McKenzie is on a different level than Gutman/Perez, and Aaronson is on a different level from McKenzie. I would be incredibly excited about this one, this guy has an incredible feel for the game.

Rogić is a no. 10. Christie is able to do that role, too.

The cynic in me is thinking we're just been used as a big name among others to hype the kid up for his move, would like it to be true though, looks a tidy player with potential big money move ahead of him. Young and talented sounds like Bundesliga to me though.

Both are very good 10s no doubt, seems to be a different dimension to this lad in terms of his dribbling and passing.

Looks a real good player with pace. Like the look of this boy, hopefully something in it..

To be fair, it was more that I watched Deebo United vs NYCFC and he was the only player who stood out on either side in that context.

He had great hustle and was breaking their back line purely on effort, but I can't say much to his actual talent. He at least isn't afraid to get scrappy.

Random bump and nothing to report but, just watched his video.

    * me he looks good. I ignored this to begin with as it was another random MLS link but he seems different. Pulisic level vibes. Takes the ball in, finds a pass, pace, beats players and is always on the move. Plays years ahead of himself and much like a European player.

We should prioritise getting him in, IMO. Hopefully catches the eye again when we watch this Mckenzie.

    Assist just there tonight.

@obafgkmlt and @Officer Doofy doing the scouting on ESPN.

I'd make a move for him in prep for Rogic or Christie potentially leaving.
