They have the exact same attributes they did last year so could very well do the same thing again.

Blistering countering attacking pace from maybe half a dozen pace merchants. We had 1 in Daizen for about 20 minutes, that’s the difference.

    What's the point?

Sick of it. He never learns. He cannot set up against opposition who are even slightly superior to us.

Setting up to defend the halfway line against an absolutely rapid forward line isn't brave it's idiotic

He's been due a lot of praise this season, and the way we've played before tonight, he's deserved it, but that was honestly the worst European performance I've seen from a Celtic team since Artmedia. It was 7-1 going on 10, maybe more.

I don't begrudge him starting the game trying to take it to Dortmund, no issue, but at 2-1, Dortmund were continually beating our press, to continue playing that way until the second half is utter madness.

He done it again Barcelona, he done it against PSG and he's done it again tonight.

If we play the same way against Atalanta, then he'll lose a lot of good will with the support that he's built back up, it's easy to say learn from it, but he clearly hasn't from his first spell.

Suppose that's why he's back in Scotland.

Found out consistently at that level.

Got to say that’s the worst one I’ve seen. The likes of PSG and Barca has genuinely world class players. Good team Dortmund but they are in transition and just off a 5-1 hiding by Stuttgart

Not being able to adapt in game is genuinely criminal. The dysfunctional press absolutely killed us. Surely someone in the team or coaching staff would have seen that after the second or third time they absolutely turned us?

What was also symbolic is nobody wanted to take control of the game or show for the ball. I always look at the first few minutes and see who shows for throw ins. Nobody was and unfortunately it set the tone for the night.

Probably for the best we don't get automatic CL qualification next season with him in charge.

    It's just rinse and repeat.

Brendan Rodgers is the only manager to witness his team concede seven goals in a Champions League game more than once.

This is the third time it's happened on his watch.

Barcelona and Paris St-Germain were the others to hit seven past Celtic during Rodgers' first spell at Celtic.

    Nah just never worked.

Tell you what ave seen them (in two guises) get to two European finals playing anti football. But take more pride in our match day one performance against bratislava.

We were out played. Simple as that.

Brendan still has my full backing!

Their run to the CL final last season was a complete fluke. They were never a top 10 team in Europe, never mind top 2.

Much like the huns getting to the EL final.

The fact we can no longer drop into the EL is grim (not that we'd ever do anything in that either).

Want the CL money but don't want to keep getting embarrassed.

Are yous genuinely wanting us to play a totally different system from what were trying to achieve just cause the stature of our opponent? Thats not how we changed Football in 67.

    Rather get humbled.

We will qualify from this league.

The gap between the midfield and defence was bizarre and made it * easy for Dortmund to play through.

Yet they managed it. Because they have blistering pace up top like they still do…

Tactical flexibility is key in any decent side.. not sure this needs to be said.

It doesn’t matter as we can’t make it by the last 32 of the Europa League

Mentality issues in Europe persists at the club. It’s grim

Dortmund were UCL finalists only 3-4 months ago and had they taken first half chances v Real, could have won it.
So they are top drawer, certainly at home.

Even saying that, we as an inferior team, and away from home at one one most intimidating stadiums in Europe have to adapt tactically and we approached game like it was at St Johnstone.

This idea too though that we press high - that's an absolute fallacy. We do not.
Good teams press within 3 yards from player on possession.
We actually press from 10 yards or more away so when our player eventually actually arrives to press, they have already controlled the ball and are ready to play easy pass.
    It was suicide.

Even Arsenal played 10 behind ball v City when down to 10 because Arteta knew it would be embarrassing otherwise.

    This one's on Rogers.

The difference is in 67 there was a level playing field of sorts. We are talking about competing with teams who are simply better than us before a ball is kicked. Not playing the game to their strengths would be a start.

They way we played going into this game and Dortmunds form we all thought going into this we had a shout playing our system.

    Tactically naive naw.

Just hope this dosent derail us. Because domestically we should stroll it. Its just a system clash. Like bodo glint they where just better at it than us.
