Why is griffiths and sinclair not starting, some of rodgers team selections are mind boggling. Edouard and nitcham should be dropped after the whole dembele situation cant wait for bitton to come back.

You can argue about transfers in and out and who's to blame for that.

But it did seem like Rodgers had every intent to have Dembele and Eddie be our 2 strikers and move to a 3-5-2 and it did seem to work and come together.

However, for one reason or another that is no longer possible because of the Dembele situation and now only having two strikers so we are stuck for now with a system that teams have gotten used to and perhaps our players have become complacent with. Maybe you could try doing an Eddie and Sinclair Combo just so we aren't using our 2 strikers at the same time but you can just see the imbalance there.

Maybe even drop Ntcham and give Mulumbu a go.

Heard him saying too many passing back which was surprising.

See this standing there clapping like something out of Sea World when a player * up and then makes a foul or some * to stop a counter attack.... would Stein or O'Neill or even Lennon be applauding? Naw they'd be threating to smash you through the changing room wall!
This constantly happy and optimistic pish is beginning to grate when the players now obviously think the manager accepts pish performances.

Have to admit the wee couple of years have been great but probably the most worrying thing is this guy can't really spot a player.

We're basically playing with players who we've had for years.

He needs to bring in new players and change his laborous tactics, if he can't then time to move on with a new philosophy.

Needs to sort the football out we’re so easy to play against and it’s so boring to watch, was as close to watching a deila game as you get last night.

Agree with this, I think with Dembele going it did hamper plans but good managers plan for this. Not saying Brendan hasn't planned for it but sticking with the same "tried and tested" players in a rigid setup is not working when those players are not hitting form. With teams sitting in against us 1 up front is too easy to defend against, 2 up front is the way to go, and it was working before Eddy got injured then Dembele going. The problem, we have is 2 fold, Eddy cannot play up on his own, he does not have the experience to do so, last night he looked lost at times and is always drifting out wide but doesn't seem to have the movement to get back inside and read where he should be. On the other , Griff plays better when he is the lone striker, he has been doing it for so long, he drifts in and out the box and has that instinct to anticipate where a ball is going, his goal last night proved that. But in our system with the current players it is not working because nobody is finding him. Play them both upfront, you have to take chances with injuries. If 1 gets injured then we would be playing with 1 up front anyway. If both get injured, then play Sinclair or Christie up front. Cant be any worse as we have only scored 5 goals in 5 games in the league this season with none being scored away from home.

Why should Edouard & Ntcham be dropped because Dembele ?

So if Griffiths, for example, goes in a mood we should drop Brown, McGregor, Tierney & Gordon ?

You would start Bitton over Ntcham & Mulumbu ?

I think this is the big thing, putting 2 up front isn't going to hamper much as we are not scoring much anyway.

For starters nitcham has not been the same since his first outing against rosenborg and the two have been poor in every game ive seen since dembele gate, every time griffiths comes on he changes games his corners are better than mcgregors also.

Recruitment isn't the only reason, but it's undeniably a factor in why we are struggling to produce the goods so far this season.

Rodgers has spoken of the fact that we have lost a bit of our dynamism and potency. From that first season under Rodgers we've lost Dembele, Roberts & Armstrong - and Sinclair isn't the same player. That's a lot of attacking power we've lost and not really replaced. We had a similar issue last season with all of them struggling for fitness & form.

It's a system we've used to good effect previously, and McGregor isn't really used as a wide player, is he? Maybe when we're defending, but when we attack he's more central, you don't see him hugging the line too often.

The defensive disasterclass at the start of the season had everyone crying out for us to be a bit more careful in front of goal. Now 5 clean sheets but we’ve went too far the other way. We need to find that balance again. A secure strongest 11 starting a few consecutive games should fix that.

Hope he’s been brought in as an attacking coach..

Always remember rumours that he was a Tim in his playing days..

Prevents us being that wee bit direct though like Tierney can't do it all down that wing and when he does try to support he is too lightweight to hold up against fullbacks him and rogic are far to similar to have going through the middle too it has to be one or the other
