    His countless individuals errors, which have caused us to concede goals needlessly, for a start. I’m not even talking about poor defending necessarily; he gifts the ball directly to opposition players far too often.

    He’s not the answer going forward in Europe, and we all know that, even if the odd good performance papers over the cracks.

    Plus he is going to be 28 this year. Hardly a kid full of potential that will improve. Ajer is already better than him. Even if he was a good player the chance to receive good money for a totally replaceable 28 year old guy is too good to refuse.

    As Ted Dibiase said "everybody has a price" . If we got 6m for him we could use that to spend 8m on a quality defender to play alongside Ajer.
