The Club are delighted to announce Bosun Lawal has signed for Celtic as part of our Academy, initially working with Tommy McIntyre's Celtic B side. The 18-year-old joins from English Premier League side Watford.

The Ireland Under-21s internationalist is a defender who can play in midfield, having made his debut at this level for his country following a summer training camp in Marbella.

Lawal was recently named as the Watford Academy’s Player of the Year, and joins Celtic’s B side ahead of their new campaign in the Lowland League this weekend.

Everyone at the Club wishes Bosun every success in green and white.

I see we're all buzzing about this :56:

Never heard of him tbh! Academy signing, sure we'll see more of them this year with them being in the pyramid!

EDIT: There's already a thread I see now!

If he’s half as good as his uncle Peter then he should make our team tight as *.

We could do with a bit more of a presence there with Brown gone this season. Would be interesting to see him get a game or 2 soon enough to see how he fares.

Was playing CB against Stirling Uni...CDM in the game before I think. He looks comfy in either position.

He has the physique and composure to be fast tracked IMO. From what I've seen early doors.

That’s good would rather a big physical player for the cdm role tbh we’ve missed one since wanyama and mind he originally came in to fill a gap at cb but was just too good in the middle. Hopefully the lad gets noticed by Ange soon and keeps up the performances. Can players be called up to the first team if they’re with the B side do ye know? Like straight away etc

They can play for the first team as well but if they play more than 5 games they can’t play for the b team.

I think it’s 5 games per half season but might be all season need to double check.

Cheers, that’s not too bad then so. If a player comes in and plays 5 games then they seem to have potential to keep challenging for a spot

Thought he looked * in the friendly today. Was hoping he was the 2nd coming of Wanyama but BR is probably right about him.

Understood, but that's all we have to evaluate him off of. He misplaced like 4 passes and was largely irrelevant the rest of the 2nd half.

We should persist with Holm instead, who looks the far superior player.

I am relaxed he will be loaned out to league one again this year despite what some articles said to the contrary.
