A Prayer For Owen Meany by John Irving
Story about a midget with a funny voice who is convinced he's been born with a mission. Some of his other novels get bogged down in superfluous details (eg he waffles on about Vienna in at least a couple), but he stays on course with this one.

    Try these

The girlfriend has got all the Martina Cole novels, so far ive read The Know - Ladykillers- The Business- Faces and The Jump all are cracking reads. They all are gritty eastend london crime books. Full of believable gangland characters . Another 10 to go!!:50:

The Book of The Five Rings - Miyamoto Musashi.
    Hagakure - Yamamoto Tsunetomo

If you've read The Art Of War by Sun Tzu, then these are a must read too.

The Book of the Five Rings was written by Japans most famous swordsman, Miyamoto Musashi. Its basically a manual on martial arts theories and attittude over 5 books, The Book of Earth, The Book of Water, The Book of Fire, The Book of Wind and The Book of Void.

    Heres a link:
    A Book of Five Rings

The Hagakure is a collection of thoughts, phrases and commentries by Tsunemoto, who was a Samurai
Its sometimes called The Samurai Manual.
If you've ever seen the movie Ghost Dog (with Forrest Whittaker) the Samurai quotes he uses throughout the movie are from the Hagakure.

    Heres an example quote:
"There is something to be learned from a rainstorm. When meeting with a sudden shower, you try not to get wet and run quickly along the road. But doing such things as passing under the eaves of houses, you still get wet. When you are resolved from the beginning, you will not be perplexed, though you still get the same soaking. This understanding extends to everything."

Both are well worth a read mate :50:

Harry potter books, donty care what anyone says they are class books, the films as usual dont do the books justice.

Dan Brown books, da vinci code, angels and demons, deception point, all belters, whether you believe it or not the storys are great, theres stuff in them thats hard to disprove.

All celtic players autobiographis, special mention to neil lennons and i enjoyed Big Johnny hartsons aswell

I've just started reading The Damned United, its a belting read from what I've read so far.
HMV are selling it for only £4.

I never realised that the guy who wrote it wrote the Red Riding trilogy that was on TV the other week

Paul McGraths Autobiography is epic. Its a must read for any sports fan

The Harry Potter books are brilliant

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy are a tough read but are worth it. The Hobbit is a worthwhile read also if you are in to Tolkiens stuff

Angles and Demons and The Da Vinci Code are class

I just finished reading a book by a guy called Tony O Neill who is/was one of Britons biggest football hooligans. Its actualy a good read and I would recommend it for anybody looking for a little insigth into hooliganism. Its also quite funny!!

What teams it about mate read a few hoolie books myself.
Celtic Soccer crew, Intercity Firm(west ham), cardiff city soul crew, I fnd them fairly intersting. The west ham ones probably the best, Celtic one isnt bad either cause you can relate to it more.
