It's not uncommon to have an opinion of a player within 4 games. In fact, its quite common to make a judgement on a player after 4 games. Not your final judgement. But a judgement of what you believe are the players strengths and weaknesses, his playing traits, his first touch. All of it comes with a big health warning. But as football fans its quite normal to watch 4 matches and begin to make an opinion as you judge players performances.

I don't see it as embarrassing.

Fans, scouts, managers, coaches, commentators are all free to draw a first impression - particularly after appearing in 4 matches. Everyone does it. You see a player for the first time, or for the first few occasions and you say "he looks decent, traps the ball well, crosses it well, tackles well etc" or you might say "he's slow, not at full fitness, doesn't track back etc".

The problem is certain people exaggerating their opinion either to say "he's *' or "hes world class" after just four games.

I think a number of decent posts have been made about Boli regarding his first few appearances based upon first impressions

Calling him * after 2 games.

    That’s embarrassing for me.

I'm sure whoever called him * was just over-exaggarating for effect.

Having said that, it's still quite normal to have an opinion/first impression of a player after four games.

These are the type of games you need proper attacking full backs. That's why that Tavernier for the huns does so well stats wise. Only caught the last 20 mins but Boli and Elhamed have both been in the St Johnstone half the full time and it's paying off.

He is totally different from KT. He seems very reluctant to take players on. Great deliveries. His passing is good. He will improve and he will be a good player for us.

Genuinely don't understand people calling him *..:giggle1:
He may get caught out of position at times, but he more than makes up for it with his pace, his delivery so far has been excellent too..

Think people are just trying to compare to KT, they both play LB and like to get up the park but that's where the similarities end.

Personally I quite like Boli and if KT goes i'd be happy with him at LB, 4 games into his celtic career and even stevie wonder can see he is easily good enough for our team.

Instead of comparing to KT try comparing to Ralston? happy now?

I thought he played well especially first half, lot of good balls played into Christie/Edouard even one to Elhamed - I like how he always looks for a forward ball and goes for riskier passes. Two crosses were class as well and Edouard could have scored both with the head. 2nd half he never really got forward as much.

    Wasn't really tested defensively.

I was impressed and like the fact he regularly goes to beat the man.
