Mooy's the Bhoy: The Australian struck twice as the Celts progressed in the Scottish Cup

The Hoops travel away to the City of Discovery this coming weeked to take on Dundee United, with the sole task - to secure another win and claim the 3 points that comes with it, and take another step to securing the Premiership title once again.

After recently qualifying for the League Cup Final and progressing to the next round of the Scottish Cup, Postecoglou's Bhoys need to focus their attention to the League over the next few weeks.

The last time Celtic made the journey to Tayside back in August, it ended in one of the club's biggest ever away wins and inflicted the heaviest defeat at Tannadice in United's entire history, dating all the way back to 1909, as the Bhoys run amok and finished 9-0 winners and ultimately cost Jack Ross his job just days later.

While the prospect of a repeat of that is unlikely on Sunday, Celtic will be wary of how United managed to give the Hoops a scare however, the last time the sides met in November.

While that game ended 4-2 it was far from as straight forward as that. The Bhoys were cruising but when the Tangerines found an equalizer with just 3 minutes remaining of normal time it looked like the Celt's perfect record at Parkhead was under threat. The Hoops, however, found a late rally, to slam home 2 goals in 2 min as the game ticked into injury time, thereby narrowly avoiding the shock of dropping points at home.

August: Kyogo & Abada both struck hatricks as the Hoops put 9 goals past United at Tannadice

As for United, it appears that they used the World Cup break well, as they have been able to pick up points steadily in their quest to get away from the drop zone.

In fact they've only lost once since the league resumption (in addition to progressing in the Scottish Cup), which has seen then rise from last when the league was stopped to currently being out of the relegation zone entirely - albeit on goal difference - but still with a game in hand over most of the sides in the dogfight for survival.

There is clearly a lot of work for the Terrors to do before that has been achieved, but this turnaround has been based on a run of form that is jointly the fourth best across the entire division since the World Cup.

On target: David Turnbull has scored in each of the last 2 games, against St Mirren & Morton

    By the Numbers

    • Celtic are undefeated in all games against United since December 2014.
    • The Hoops have kept clean sheets in 5 of the past 6 games across all competitions - including the last 4 straight.
    • Both Celtic and United are undefeated in league matches in which they have scored first. The Celts have scored first 20 times (W19 D1) & the Tangerines 8 times (W5 D3).
    • Of the 37 league goals United have conceded in total this season, 20 have been in the last 15min of each half - with 10 being given up between 30min and half time and the same between the 75min mark and final whistle.

November: Liel Abada produced a fine finish that sealed the 4-2 win when these sides last met

    Team News

Ange Postecoglou is likely to make a few tweaks to the side that saw off Morton in the Scottish Cup last weekend. South Korean forward Oh Hyoen-gyo, will be hopeful of making his debut, however if it happens it is almost certainly to be from the bench.

The week off has also seen Cameron Carter-Vickers and Greg Taylor return to training ahead of this match, although whether the pair will be in the starting lineup remains to be seen.

As for Liam Fox's side, there are likely to be alterations to the side that eased past University of Stirling last week. Expect the likes of Ryan Edwards, Glenn Middleton and Ian Harkes all to be restored to the starting XI.

    Referee: Don Robertson

The Hoops have only ever lost one time when Robertson has had the whistle, which was earlier this season against St Mirren. This will be the 4th time this season overall that Robertson will have been in charge of a game involving Celtic, most recently in the 4-0 League Cup win over Motherwell.
