Dunno. Star Wars is a bit different as its considered 2 separate trilogies. Think rocky is just 6 films.

If Tarantino makes a 3rd Kill Bill, there are rumours it's due out in 2015, then that is likely to be one of the best in my opinion.

The second and third Matrix films let the first down a bit.

Lotr is the best, closely followed by TDK and Toy Story.

If you watch Alien backwards it tells a warm tale of Ripley rescuing an Alien from space and the Alien healing her dying friends in return. The Alien itself seems to have a disease that makes it get smaller until it sacrafices itself by diving into a dead astronauts chest in order to return his life to him. :55:

It's got to be LOTR, few trilogies manage to keep their quality up throughout all three like LOTR did.

Still not seen Godfather III but everyone always says it's *, but to be fair I didn't like the second one either.

Got to be LOTR, then you could quite easily pick a second from The Godfather, Star Wars and Back to the Future.

Some ones that haven't been mentioned yet I think are really good, Austin Powers, Mad Max (uncut version), Pirates of the Caribbean and from my younger days, The Mighty Ducks

The latest three are. First trilogy is decent. As a whole, the whole saga is majorly overrated.

A New Hope is the only film I would say is really good.

The Empire Strikes Back is probably my favourite Star Wars.

Here's a few other good trilolgies Indiana Jones(original), Jurassic Park, The Hangover and The Hannibal Lecter trilogy.

Lord of the Rings - hands down.

Other mentions are back to the future, original star wars, first three indiana jones movies.
    I really enjoyed Alien too.

Jurassic park isn't a great trilogy.

The first one was great, the second one was crap and the third one was decent. Not consistent enough in my opinion.

I didn't say it was great. I enjoyed the first and the third movie but I agree the second one was pish. Same with the Hanibal trilogy really.

Fair enough. I thought you said it was great when you put it next to Indiana jones which is one of my favourite trilogies. :50:

I was just trying to bring up some trilolgies that hadn't been mentioned. The Spider-Man trilogy is also worth a mention even though 3 got really stupid in places..

Lord of the Rings is a masterpiece. They are long films but they are just amazing, visually and in terms of story. The characters, for the most part, are great as are the actors. The setting is stunning and huge. Then there's the battles - sheer class.

I've never been a big fan of Star Wars, just can't get into it. Some of the characters are fantastic but I just seems like not much is happening.

Hoping the new Spider-Man films will be better than the first trilogy. The first two were decent but the third was complete gash. Never liked Tobey Maguire either, Andrew Garfield is miles better.

possibly the worst thing about it is the 'theme'(elfs, walking trees, bows and arrows etc) per se. Thats why i dont like Dragon age, skyrim or game of thrones either.

Fair enough then, the fantasy genre isn't for everyone:50:

Probably my favourite genre, but that's just because I wish I lived in the Middle Ages:smiley-laughing002:
