out of interest, why Jenz over Welsh so far this season?

And @Jacob knows why Cal Mac on the left rather than the central guy making it tick?

 

I’ve not posted mines cos I’ve no idea between JJ or Ralston, Kyogo or Giakoumakis and Jenz or Welsh.

So I’m curious about the consensus.

 

Didn't want to leave Maeda out but Jota is best on the left and I think Abada gives us better balance with Jota on the left.

 

You would have Starfelt right now? When he’s fit, definitely comes into it but right now Welsh and Jenz are ahead of him.

 

Ah right, didn't realise you were taking injuries etc into account.

 

Just from right this minute if you had to pick the best XI, no particular team or home/away advantage in mind, who would you pick

 

Same XI but I'd probably put Welsh in beside CCV.

 

Reason I made the thread tbf this, because I keep changing my mind between guys like Welsh and Jenz. But I think Welsh the more I think on it

 

Main reason I said Welsh is because I've seen Jenz play once. Bar the conceded goal and a couple of over hit passes, he had a solid debut. I'm sure he'll improve.

 

Jenz for me looked like a guy I’d have handpicked attribute wise to replace Starfelt if he performs to the same standard, bigger, stronger and better on the ball…. From that very, very small sample. The sloppy moments he had I’ve mentally wrote off as getting up to speed, but from what we know the sloppy parts might be more his game and he had a belter of a debut. Welsh has proven himself very steady and seems to have kicked up a level.

it’s good problems to have this, because there’s several positions I can debate myself over just now because of the quality we have for the spot.

so judging the general feeling with this thread more than anything

For me the only position(s) up for debate here is CB or ST. Jenz is an unknown quantity compared to Welsh but Starfelt when fit is in. GG and Kyogo is a tough call though. I love Giakoumakis but Kyogo just has so much quality on his day. Turnbull over O'Riley just now as Dave looks fresh but again a close one.

 

Welsh is still 4th choice for me. One good game doesn't change that. Not going to forget how dog * he was when he was given chances last season.

 

Only because Welsh is out due to illness.I like him and he has improved greatly.
I also like Ralston,O'Riley,GGand Maeda,but the beauty of this squad is that not one player can rest on their laurels.
Big Ange is keeping them all on their toes.
