Been thinking about this a lot recently. Our 3IAR row winning squad CB's were the much maligned Caldwell and McManus, in between then and now we've had a fair amount keeping guard at the back for the Celts.

So who do you think has been the best CB since 2008?

Mulgrew or Wilson for me, hard to pick from them two.

Kelvin Wilson without a doubt. If it was Mulgrew he'd be played in that position every week.

Put up a poll, should be quite interesting.

Christ, that's a pretty depressing list. We really have lacked a top centre-back.

There's not one in there that's been fully reliable in their time here. I'll go for Mulgrew.

    Extremely difficult one this

I cannot understand why we struggle in this department,we have had really poor players in the past in that position over the years

Caldwell, mad mick ,loovens to the Swedish guy forget his name all pish

In all honesty Caldwell and mc manus look good at the minute considering the donkeys we have now :icon_mrgreen: and that's saying something

Wilson has been the best for me and he started extremely bad

    Wilson, has been our best.

Rogne, however in my opinion was the most naturally gifted and composed player we had when fit, in that position. Gutted he never lived up to his ability.

I'm really hoping Van Dijk turns out to be a real top player for us.

    Where is Efe????

Anyways I said Mulgrew, the most consistent whenever he's played at centre back in my opinion.

Caldwell was the worst, and yet still started a lot.

Looking at that list is bringing back some painful memories. Wilson came good eventually but was * in his first year, could also still look dodgy at times.I dunno, I'll go for Mulgrew because when he played there consistently he won player of the year.

I hope that we have a better list to choose from in another 5 years.

    I voted Rogne.

Injury prone and not the best on the ball but when fit he was a no nonsense CB who dominated in the air and on the deck.

I reckon if Rogne hadn't been made of glass he could have been a real quality player.

Mulgrew. & im pretty sure if he'd played there last Tuesday then we wouldn't be looking to turn over a 2 nil defeat.

Kelvin Wilson closely followed by Charlie Mulgrew.
