You have to question why Liverpool even bothered buying him? From the players perspective it’s obvious why he made the decision to go better wages, no need to move the family or home, the prestige of being at Liverpool. However from a Liverpool point of view why sign him if you are going to play two CMs at CB? If he isn’t getting a chance now he never will.

If you never knew better you would say they were doing their old pal a favour.

 

That will have crossed a lot of people's minds but i dont think he is as highly regarded by the owners down there as you are led to believe

 

Wonder if he will end up out on loan to us at some point

 

The reason the deal collapsed is due to us inserting an "Injury free" clause into his pre contract.

He would have been told this by liverpool before signing tbh, Guess he's happy not to play.

 

So like most pre contracts you have a clause which says of you get a serious injury the deals off.

We had it with the polish boy Jaroslaw Fojut, done his cruciate and celtic ripped up his pre contract.

Total non story, guy agent played celtic like a fiddle Risdale said as much!

 

We never done anything wrong here by inserting a clause and anyone that thinks we did are deluded. Imagine he played and got a serious injury, what would we be saying if we had to take a crocked player!!???
