Yeah, bettors were frantic over who was credited...Samaras got it in the end but seemed clear that the trajectory was deflected by Mascherano - never quite understood how/when they deem it an own goal or not

I think Sammy has been credited with the goal, as he headed it onto Mascherano's head (which subsequently knocked it in).

Although the last touch was from little Eddy Munster, Samaras made it travel in that direction :icon_mrgreen:

If it's on target and takes a deflection then it's a goal, if it's not on target and takes a deflection it's an own goal.

Sammy up to five for the season then, 4 in Europe.

Absolutely gutted at conceding the 94th minute goal but I couldn't be prouder to be a Celtic supporter. Forster was truly world class, our defence kept Messi nullified and contrary to some bitter comments, having such small possession against the best team in the world away from home is not at all shameful. If that had been the now dead huns, they'd have played a 5-5-0 with 0 forwards, achieving 10% possession at most, while we started Hooper and Samaras with Forrest and Commons off the bench. Scottish football should be very proud with our efforts last night. The best way to look at it is Would you rather we had not scored a last gasp goal in Moscow but not conceded a last gasp goal last night and we got 2 points from these 2 away games or the 3 we have? This team is going places :50:

The injury ruined our plans. Samaras had their number, and had he stayed on the pitch, morale wouldn't have went down(his departure must've been a mental blow too), and we'd have him on set pieces. If he plays on Parkhead, and does not get injured, Barca will be in for a bloodletting.

Disappointed but ultimately, im extremely proud of the bhoys.
It annoys me, people saying "barca deserved to win because they were the better team and had massive possession "

Barca deserve to win and have massive possession against everyone. Its what you can do to get a result that counts, and our players were lions last night.

Great performance yesterday. Reading headlines like "justice in 94th minute" makes me physically sick though.

If I had one small criticism, and it could only be a very small one, of us last night, it was that I thought a few of our players seemed to lose their composure in the last 4-5mins. Maybe it was the excitement of being so close to getting a draw that got to them.

We'd kept our composure and defended with so much discipline all night long but I felt in the last few minutes we started to just kick the ball anywhere. I specifically remember the ball dropping to Joe Ledley and he just wellied it up the park when there was really no need. That was very unlike him as he's normally one of our most composed players.

Like I say, it's only a minor criticism, but giving the ball away needlessly only helps a team like Barca to get a head of steam up. Ah well.

Before a ball was kicked, I wasn't expecting anything. I was just hoping we wouldn't get embarrassed too much.

When the final whistle blew, I was gutted that we didn't get a point, as was every other Celtic fan out there. That tells you everything about how Celtic played on the night. Barca were typical Barca, but Celtic gave them a game and just when it looked like we'd pulled off the impossible, heartbreak.

We were unlucky to lose Samaras. Who knows how the game would have panned out with him on the field. BUT you really couldn't ask for a better performance from Celtic. Lenny and the boys did themselves and Scottish football proud tonight.

Agree, I said last night if I could nit pick at stuff yesterday then it would have been Lenny's choice and timing of certain subs but against Barca I just can't the only thing I would say though is that it's a shame Miku or Lassad which ever were on the bench never got some game time.
