Could be them *, Puyol and Valdes might be kept now lol

They breached Transfer rules by signing 10 players aged under 18 which isnt allowed for International players. By International I think it means players from other continents.

The Disciplinary Committee regarded the infringements as serious and decided to sanction the club with a transfer ban at both national and international level for two complete and consecutive transfer periods, together with a fine of CHF 450,000. Additionally, the club was granted a period of 90 days in which to regularise the situation of all minor players concerned.

They'll get through a season - as Barcelona always have done, they've plenty talent coming through the youth system, and in some ways it'll help these players flourish. At worst they'll have a trophyless season - I can't see them finishing lower than 3rd next year. GK and CB might be a problem as I'm sure they'd look to strengthen during summer with Valdes and Puyol leaving but they've a good squad of players. The fact the World Cup is on might be a kick in the teeth since it's a showcase but they'll survive...

I'm sure they'll live, slightly bigger squad than the jambo's did this season.

Will probably end up appealed and shortened to 1 with another suspended or something. The thing is surely they aren't the only club to have done this?

I'm surprised fifa had the balls to give such a punishment to a club as big as barcelona.

So is that the Ter Stegan (is that the right name?) move out the window then?

They're easily covered and have enough for atop 3 finish but the league is Madrid's next season, infact If Atletico can hold their nerve and keep most of their players and/or reinvest wisely - they have a superb chance.

Its things like this that make me hopeful the FFP model will be upheld.

If they have the bottle to do this to Barca, then they can do it to Man City/Chelsea/PSG. :icon_mrgreen:

Edit: Apparently they can appeal, like Chelsea did. This will halt any 'ban' and allow them to sign other players. Court of Sporting Arbitration or something?

Didn't Sevco get a transfer ban but were told they had a certain amount of time to bring in players before the ban took place? Can't mind, why did they even get a ban with being a new club?

Ter Stegen (mentioned earlier) deal still happening? I'm sure in FM (I know) the deal is said to be done, for the start of the transfer window. Wonder if that will still be upheld like a precontract, or will be rubbed off.

No chance this will stick, just like Chelsea they'll get it overturned. They are Barcelona and can do what they like.
