A weird feeling after that tonight. The first thing that really stood out to me is how threadbare our squad is right now from that subs bench. We badly need bodies in still.

Could not have asked for a better start scored one. Losing that first goal really set us back but we should have scored again shortly after that if not for poor control twice.

the next 50 minutes was a disaster and showed how poor our distribution from the back was under pressure. Some of the passing was school boy stuff and the failure to be more accurate with our longer passes failed to present our forward line with opportunities to get us up the park.

For the last 25 minutes we played better as They tired Edouard gave us a physical presence and Rogic had been a passenger and Christie was terrible on the left tonight. In fact the full midfield were poor for the large part of the game. We badly needed a more physical and energetic presence in there to help out.

The last 20 minutes we should have picked them off if not for poor decision making, so many 3 v 3 scenarios and the wrong choices being made.

Some good backs to the wall defending from the defence and a couple of good saves. The lack of options in our squad at them moment was probably our biggest issue tonight as well as horrible individual errors.

Funnily enough it had a very similar feel to it.

We did some horrible errors, but the only goals they did was ours * up, the rest we defend and Hart! Love him.

AZ could win that Conference League, no doubts.

Agree with this overall I also thought the ref had a nightmare he let Koopmeiners and De Wit away with constant fouls, their right winger escaped a booking for a blatant dive to try win a penalty and missed a blatant push on Welsh at the free header Bruno martins Indi had.

I think we gave them energy after the * up , butthe biggest thing i took from the game is physicality, they wer a lot stronger and bullied us a bit aided by a ref who gerard seemed to pick , we are inexperienced in some areas and a completely new defense, we are learning as we go and the hard knocks will teach players like Welsh and ryno Ralston and wee monty so much .

That was the big test for the team, hard away game in Europe against a team with similar tactics to us but with some top quality players. We'll learn from it, it's clear as day Starfelt isn't good enough and we need to tweak the system for away games to give more energy into midfield. Had we had Rogic on the bench to come on for the last 20/30 mins when they tired we would of scored more.

I'll take Europa League, slightly more money and better opposition to keep testing ourselves against.

    Just can't get enough
They are a very good team we have flaws but done enough on over the two legs, maybe now we might get 2 or 3 in the door think a center half left back and striker are a must

The biggest takeaway from tonight is where we are since Sparta Prague pumped us, yes there were flaws but we seen it through.

Two possibly, only cause he couldn't jog 3 yards mind.

They were a very decent side, last season we'd have crumbled and they genuinely could have taken 5 or 6 off us but we kept going and with a bit more composure could have scored again to really ease the pressure.

Wouldn't be surprised in the slightest to see AZ go deep into that Conference League, over the two legs they played at a mental tempo and had 2 or 3 very good players. Their japanese full back, karlsson and Koopmeiners in particular were all very impressive I thought.

Braga, Ludogorets, Ferencvaros - that would be my pick in the group stages

Glad I’m not the only one who thought so. Some player. Best in Scotland on his day, imo

Karlsson was, at times, different class. Wouldn’t mind having him in our squad.
