Great win... did it comfortably in the end, but it was a very tough contest. Think the Hawks will appreciate the week off now, give some of the lads a bit of a chance to recover from some of those knocks, as that was a pretty physical game, especially early on. Now just 1 game & 1 win away from the Big Kahuna for the Hawks. :veryhappy:

Anyone watching (or watched, I don't think this is live) the eagles v north melbourne match. The Eagles are absolutely dominating the match so far. Its 27 - 1 right now. Can't believe how well they're doing. I haven't been keeping up to date with this season. Are the Eagles doing well?

    Terrible news :54:

THE Port Adelaide Football Club has been informed that an Australian man who has died in Las Vegas is believed to be one of its players.

At this point, the club is unable to confirm the identity of the player involved in this tragedy as family members are still being informed.

A group from the Port Adelaide playing group left Adelaide on Saturday for a holiday.

The club is in contact with members of the travelling group and is working with U.S. authorities while investigations continue.

Port Adelaide general manager (football) Peter Rohde is on his way to the United States to be with the players.

The club has also made contact with its other players still in Australia.

The Port Adelaide Football Club is attempting to ascertain more information and is unable to make any further comment.

Eagles ended up winning by nearly 100 points. They were sitting top of the league for most of the season but dropped off the pace over the last month. West Coast vs. Collingwood this weekend will be a cracker.

The port player was announced as 22 year old John McCarthy. R.I.P, thoughts are with his family and the club.

Really is a most tragic tale & as mentioned previously, my thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. Something like this simply transcends footy.

    Rest in peace, John. :shamrock:

HAWTHORN and Carlton are engaged in a tug of war over the services of teenage Irish star Ciaran Kilkenny.

Following reports in Irish newspapers, AFL.com.au has confirmed Kilkenny, a 19-year-old who plays Gaelic football for Dublin, recently flew to Melbourne to visit the Hawks.

He has been on Carlton's radar for some time, having been identified 18 months ago by Gerard Sholly, who handles the Blues' Irish recruiting.

The Blues have stayed in close contact with the young gun and his family since that time, and remain hopeful of gaining his signature.

But it is believed Kilkenny is still weighing up whether he wants to pursue an AFL career, or remain in his homeland and continue to play with Dublin.

At 186cm tall and still growing, Kilkenny is an ideal size for Australian football, and has excellent athletic capabilities.

Swans booked their place in next week's 'Big One'. Now the wait for the Hawks and the Crows to clash tomorrow, to find out who'll be there with them.

    'Mon the Hawks!

Serious squeaky * time, that's for sure, Stobesy. Celtic winning & the Hawks into the GF.. if only Souths had managed to overcome the Bulldogs in the NRL, then today would have been just about as perfect a day as possible.

Am absolutely pumped now that we are through, and we did beat the Swans just before the semis got under way. Going to be a tense week, that's for sure. Absolutely stoked to be back in the Big Kahuna. :veryhappy:

The best team won on the night. Stoked with the effort the Crows put in. After finishing 14th last season to pushing Hawks until the last minutes in a preliminary final, I'll take that.

Bring on the GF, going to be a cracker of a game.
